For some reason Bryzgalov decided to start over Raycroft and that hurt us, as the shots were about even in the game. Bernier scored a hat-trick and is moving up the charts in the Calder race. Other than that, well, we lost 7-4 so that sucks.

Wow, this is an absolutely huge win for the Isles... to come up with the OT goal against a very strong LA team moves the Isles within 2 points of the 8th place Flyers in the Gretzky.

Two shorties for the Isles in this game and the PP answered the call in OT with Jags sniping the game winner.

Isles play again tomorrow against the Jets.

Seems like the Lightning have been off for a week. Nice to come back with a win. Mccabe is fitting in just fine.

Brookbank gets recalled from the AHL and sets the tone for an ugly game vs the Bruins. Somehow, the Avs came out of this one on top.

Thrashers beat the Flyers 7-3 to move to 103 points which passes last years full season point total of 102 points (1st year with GM Sutaria). Rod Brind'Amour led the way with a hat-trick and Bryan Smolinski had 4 assists. The Thrashers get a couple of days off now before they play on Tuesday vs Minnesota.

Notes: The Thrashers are now only 3 points away from clinching a playoff spot (any combination of Thrashers getting points or Senators' losing points).

Pens battle Oilers to a 3-3 tie. Given what a strong team the Oilers are we are happy with a point. Pretty even game all around with neither team really pulling away at any point. The point gives the Pens 80 points on the season and moves them into 5th place in the conference 1 point up on the 6th place Leafs and 5 points up on the 9th place Sens.

At least Hesla's Caps won so he won't be angry with me.

I didn't expect much heading into the game against the Thrashers but not giving up 7 would have been nice.

At least this game after getting 30 shots we actually were able to score more than one goal.

Thanks to the Sens loss the Flyers get to stay in 8th for one more day. We get a day off before having to go into to Edmonton and get our 4th loss in a row.

sabres complete a very tight two game series with the Flames , after a tie a few days ago in this one the shots were even , but the Sabres pulled out a one goal victory. The top 2 lines have some chemistry for the Sabres right now, with Matt Stajan playing some of his better hockey of the season, centering the 2nd line. Stajan had two goals in the 4-3 victory.

Two big shot totals in the past 2 games. Stars couldn't beat Turco last game, but got 6 on Fleury in this game. 3 powerplay goals and a shorthanded goal will usually get a win. Everyone's favorite pest Matt Cooke with 2 goals and 2 assists.

Well, just one of those games. Bruins double the Avs and shots but still lose and pick up an injury, this time to Sourvy.

1128 OILERS 3 PENGUINS 3 (OT)

We are pleased with this result, as our blueline was hurting and we started backup Patrick Lalime, who played great. Craig Rivet also played very well for Edmonton. Unfortunately the game came at tremendous cost as both Rachunek and Salvador were injured. We played the last five minutes and overtime with only Rivet, a recovering Hamrlik, the underrated Cam Barker, and spare part Tomas Malec on the backend...

Sharks lost for the first time in 8 games as we were unable to mount enough of a comeback in this one with the dirty Pavel Vorbiev taking out one of our top scorers in Jon Cheechoo int the middle of the 1st....

Second line stepped up to make up for the depleted top line as Kariya scored a couple big ones.

Belfour the bed in the 3rd giving up 2 goals on 6 shots..."well, there's your problem!"

Hopefully I got my lines in on time for the Rangers today as I need a win to get myself back on track.
