Default You've Been Rick Rolled

Is it bad, that after being Rick Rolled so many times, I find myself going to watch the video on my own free will?

I'd even bust out some of those dance moves if I wasn't so nervous of having someone catch me...

I was only 4 years old when this video came out but I have been a fan of it since I first saw it years ago on a Much Music back to the 80s Weekend in the mid-90s. I guess that's what made me wierd in Jr. High and Highschool loving 80s music and videos while everybody else was stewing in Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins. All I knew is that I hated flannel and I hated the 90s.

Rick Astley has other cool videos but this one is classic, if you watch the pop-up video version you'll see that people and his own producers didn't believe that it was his voice, they thought it was a black person overdubbing him (Milli Vanilli anyone?). Also, the black dancer in that video was drunk when he arrived on set and the first time he tried to backflip off the wall, he landed on his head.

I don't know what I'm doing, trying to prove that I was a fan of Rick Astley's cheesy videos and music long before the whole Ric Rolling fad came along? Last time I got Ric Roll'd in a thread, I made this

Everytime I see it, I wonder to myself if back when this video was brand new, was this cool?

Or did they laugh back then too?

I think Brian Griffin's version is actually pretty good:

That's the thing about the 80s, nomatter what you are doing or how silly it looks/feels, you feel good. You feel happy listening to it, watching it, busting out the dance moves. It just puts a smile on your face nomatter the situation you are in. The 80s is the best drug for making me feel happy. It's just pure happiness for me. And I was only 7 years old when it ended.

I agree, I just hosted an 80's party this weekend where everyone dressed 80s and the music was all 80s. Good times! Also I believe 80s night was #14 on stuffwhitepeoplelike.org too!

That's why being Chinese and an 80s junkie sucks, compounded by going through jr. high and highschool in the 90s where the popular fads were raves, grundge, 90s R&B, and wearing oversized flannel. Barf. I need more white 80's loving white friends.
