Default Caps make first "Bulking up" move

The Caps have brought in Veteran UFA forward Martin Lapointe to bolster the bottom two lines with solid LD and EX..

His 71DF rating and his LD rating of 100 will prove invaluable come playoff time.

Going to The New York Islanders in the deal are

Arron Asham and Codey Burki .. one Million dollars is being carried by Lapointe in a suitcase.

While losing Burki in the deal may come back and bit the caps in the ass, it will be at least another year or two before he becomes a player that can make an impact in the NHL/CPHL.

Yeah, for whatever reason, Lapointe has been absolutely brutal for us this season... a guy with a 71DF should not logically carry a -27 rating with him, but then again, we're not a great team to begin with so.... yeeeeaaahh.

It got so bad we've been leaving him off any of the lines and using him only on the PK...

Thanks to Hesla for the simple, and straight forward negotiations. Hesla offered, I countered and we had a deal.
