Default DET/ANA Swap players

After having the big V appointment GM Guns was sitting around feeling bored while icing his lower regions. So I decided to talk some trades. Having several potential deals brewing but with it being so hard to make a deal these days I have just one to announce at this time.

Detroit has sent there number one center to the Ducks in hopes that it will bring some sort of spark to the lineup. The deal breaks down like this:

To Ana
Eric Cole
Marc-Andre Gragnani's
3rd 09

To Det
Alex Tanguay

Cole is a player I really do like. He brings several thing to the table that most players can not. He is 2nd in the league for hits behind Vinny Lecavalier but has played less games. If this makes a difference in the Sim or not who nows. Gragnani is a offensive D-man that is having a very good rookie season in the AHL. We wish both players well in Disneyland.

More deals coming....

Ducks are sad to let go of tanguay but he just wasn't producing in the Anaheim uniform. He is a talented young player and should fit well in Detroit. We are really to bring in Cole and his 3 year contract. Additionally Gragnani is a good prospect who we hope will make the jump to the NHL next season.

Thanks to Detroit for the back and forth trade talks, we wish the best of luck for Alex in Detroit.

I think this deal is very even. The Wings get the best player out of the deal, but the Ducks get back Cole who is on a great contract and Gragnani who is having a very good AHL year.

Good job to both GM's for getting a really even trade done.

I personally like Cole a lot more than Tanguay as a player, but with Cole's injury history, that tips the scales in Tanguay's favour... slightly. Even deal here I think.

Yeah, Tanguay is struggling this year but so is Cole and after his last injury his production has been down. But with Brind'Amour and Williams out now, Stillman gone the Hurricanes in the NHL will really need to lean on him so mabe he'll have a good run to end the season. Tanguay is having an off year and if you read the other forum you'd think he's single handedly is sabotaging Huselius' long term future with the Flames. Still he's on pace for 60 some points and has a pretty solid track record as a play maker. But this Gragnani is a real wild card. He's having a very good first pro season and Buffalo won't sign both Kalinin and Campbell so there will be a spot on their blue line for someone next year. He's probably got a good shot at it. Ultimately I think he'll decide how this deal looks. But Detroit may get a little extr oomph this year from Tanguay to make a playoff push since they can play him at center.

Yea pretty similar players... I've always liked Cole and the way he plays but he'll always have the injuries. Tanguay isn't as good all around but he's solid and a more consistent player.
