Nords Willing To Take On Larger UFA Contracts

As stated in the buyers thread, the Nords are looking to take on some larger, perferably UFA contracts for a possible playoff run.

We'd like to target defensemen, but aren't limited to do so.

We will not trade a current core player to make such a move, and as far as draft picks go, if I read my roster page correctly, we don't have anything available until 2010. I have been trying to shop AHLers/ECHLers, including Flames standout prospect John Negrin.

Any deal for a larger contract player will require monitary consideration as well.

If you have a larger contract on your roster, have cheese room to move cap, and want some freedom/something for a upcoming UFA, contact the Nords.

NOTE: Both Ossi Vannanen and Rhett Warrener are useless to me for my run due to injury. Ossi's contract is off the books July 1 while Warrener still has one more season on his next year. I would be willing to move these pieces if you are looking towards next year, either cap room, or a solid defenseman.

After bringing in Petr Nedved, the Nords would like to do the same kind of deal for a defenseman. DF rating must be 70+ and hopefully a SC rating of 65+. I'm OK with a UFA this year if you're OK sending over a briefcase of cash along with the player to cover this year only.

I have a bunch of young players on my roster that have spent some time on an NHL roster this season, some more successful than others.

If you have that Dman, that you wont be re-signing anyways come July 1, and want to get something for him before he moves for a higher paycheque, come talk to me.
