Default Dedicated to Reducing Stress in my Life

Living in Calgary, everyone seems to be stressed out all the damn time. I am going to do my little bit to make sure that I have inner peace and am not on the edge of losing it at all tmes. Here is my plan:

1. Any time someone asks how I'm doing, I will not answer with "BUSY!" by default, as it seems to be the custom in these parts lately. If I was busy that day, I will say my day was full. If not, I will try to give a thoughtful answer, even if this was never wanted in the first place.

2. I've decided to quit coffee and I am on day 3 of no joe. I didn't drink that much - maybe 3 - 4 cups per day. Thankfully I've not experienced any headaches from caffiene withdrawl, and my energy levels generally seem fine. Another positive is that I do not feel as high stung as I normally do... the feeling of being always hurried is generally subsiding. Instead, I will have 1 green tea in the morning, with one tablet of ginseng and 1mL of ginko biloba. Water for the rest of the day, with another round of ginseng and gb at lunch.

3. My wife and I will cook and eat every meal, every day. No more take out (unless on special occasion) and no more skipping meals.

4. I will not drive any more than I have to.

5. I will continue to walk to work when the weather isn't terrible, and I have left a set of running clothes at work so I can jog over lunch 2 days/week, I will also do dips, push-ups, sit-ups, arm curls and shoulder presses with whatever weight is laying around, and stretch each day.

6. I will give myself more realistic goals at work.

7. Reduce alcohol consumption.

There's probably more that I will do... what else does everyone do to relieve stress?

Meditation.. I'm 100% serious That's really all you need.

Everything else helps.. I've cut caffiene and feel great. Caffiene is evil

That proves that you have turned gay! Only men have sex that often, so if you are...you must be doing so with another man!

1. Drive at ease.. No more survival of the fittest.
2. Don't chase women who are not worth it.
3. No more drugs, binge drinking only on occasion.
4. Stay on healthy path.
5. Eat better, actually bring lunch to work.
6. Invest more money for the future.
7. Pay down debt.
8. Spend less time worrying about things beyond my control.

Leave work in the middle of the afternoon to play hockey hookey. I call it "afternoon delight".

Geeze, I'm supprised it's gone this long without hookers and blow.
And if that's what you think will do it than maybe you should move to Nicaragua.

But since you're married that's probably not an option, so failing that you could always ask you wife to step up the oral pleasure frequency.

And don't give me something like "The frequency is already quite nice thank you" because you know that's a lie. There is always room for more.

I find that a large part of my stress comes from those around me. I'm generally a real easy going person with a good temperament on my own. I seem to easily pick up on the moods of people around me though, and my own mood changes due to the vibes I get from others. Like some sort of emotional vampire or something.

I think it's great that you're being proactive about reducing your stress and improving your lifestyle. So many times I've wanted to do the same, but always lack the follow through to make permanent changes and always fall back into old habits. Good luck to ya!

Obey speed limits. Once you resign yourself to just taking it easy on the roads, it really reduces stress caused by driving. Plus, if the lights on your commutes are timed, you should spend less time stop-starting, and more time cruising.

Take your hobbies as seriously as your job, i.e., don't give up what you enjoy to make more time for what you feel obligated to do.

I like to shove miniature marshmellows up my nose and then chase the cat and see if I can hit her by expelling the marshmellows from my nostrils in a vigorous manner. It helps to clear my sinuses well before hand so I don't snot the cat.

Either that or rum and coke.
