Default Websites and ads - warning for those at work.

This goes for any website, not just CP but my example is from CP as its the only site I browse at work (that isn't work related).

I was checking my firewall logs today, and I noticed that each time I come to CalgaryPuck my firewall logs about 13 hits from my address from when I first hit CalgaryPuck. A couple are for CalgaryPuck, the rest are for ads initiated from visiting this site.

This is not a complaint, and I apologize for any complaints that arise from this. I figured that I should warn those who browse the internet at work. If you think you're secretly getting away with browsing the internet at work, you probably aren't. Its just a matter of your bosses/IT staff caring.

I take the IT guy to lunch once a week. As a result, CalgaryPuck remains open on my second browser pretty much all the time.

Yeah, mt IT Network Admin was complaining to a co-worker (a CP lurker) about why he kept trying to go to a site that was blocked so many times each day. The answer was he wasn't, but links and ads on the site he did go to were trying to go to the 'banned' sites (Frappr, Photobucket, misc ad servers, etc.)

Yeah, not much can be done about that unfortunately.

Easiest would be to use the archive view to browse, but functionality is limited and I'm not sure how often new posts show up.

Wish you worked at my office, I would love for people to do this to me. I would make a great dirty cop.

I have no idea what my office thinks of my spending loads of time on CP, but I do quite frankly consider it a legitimate teaching resource as this OT forum frequently comes up with unusual tidbits that are interesting discussion starters for the ESL learner.

Im pretty sure thats in reverse order... for some reason...
  1. Ovie or Sid the Kid?
  2. Purse-snatching Hab spend night in Tampa clinker!
  3. How many points will the Flames get on this road trip (part 2)
  4. Rank Lidstrom
  5. Commodore & Stillman to Sens

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
