I have some issues with the way FOX runs a lot of its programming. This is a bad move IMO.
It absolutely floors me that they inject American Idol into House's slot every few weeks. I think it's moronic....and it pisses me off.

Yeah, as the only show the wife and I watch week in and week out the past few years, it sucks.
But a few factors about it make sense.
With only having 1/3 of the current season done, as the article says, it would mean to run through to the fall as they would finish shooting in a couple months.
With each show almost like a mini movie now, the budget must be quite high and to maximize revenue, they need to sell ad space in the fall and winter, not in the soft viewership summer season.
Plus, once they get done shooting this season in 2 or 3 months, they'd pretty much have to turn around start shooting on the next season right away to be ready for January, let alone all the writing and pre production.
But yeah, a long 11 months ahead.
