Default Steve Francis finally to play for the Grizzlies?

Looks like this whiner got traded to Memphis today. Wonder if he'll show up to the Grizzlies this time?

After spitting in Vancouver's face the day of the draft in 1999, saying on national TV that he'd "hope that he'd wake up tomorrow happy", and then citing God's Will, taxes, endorsments (Wall Street Sports? lol) for not wanting to play in Vancouver. From some online research, looked like he did go to Vancouver that summer for a press conference, more in attempt to do damage control for other teams to still have success in getting traded later that summer, which didn't work out so well as far as his time in Vancouver. He got his trade wish to Houston. His first game in Vancouver he had fruit and veg thrown at him, rightfully so.

He BS's his college too before that, 99% saying he'd return for a second year but then entered the draft.

Happy to know that this overhyped greedy pouty POS has only made the playoffs once and hopefully never will make it again. Sorry for such a negative post on Christmas eve, but this guy exemplifies what's wrong with pro athletes the last decade.

Haha try batteries, not just fruit and veg.. the whole Francis debacle really opened my eyes to just what a laughingstock the Grizzlies' time in Vancouver was. Shame really, I quite enjoyed live NBA basketball.

Stu Jackson ruined basketball in Vancouver.

Reeves wasn't a bad pick at the time - the guy could score and had good hands for a big guy - but re-signing him to that ridiculous contract which is still one of the largest in the history of pro atheletes in all of Canada (Carlos Delgado and possibly Jermaine Oneal are a few who have beaten it) without checking to see if the guy was keeping up a fitness regime!?!?!?!?! Brutal.

You can't build your franchise around a guy like that. You can't let someone try to build a franchise if he tells you that's what he wants to do

Francis can join Marbury in oblivion for all I care.

Perhaps a more satisfying thought would be the reaction of the current average basketball fan, "Who's Steve Francis???".
