Default F'd up furnace question + another

Amigos,

Looking to see if anybody has experience with the following problem: my furnace pilot light has recently started going out at irregular intervals...approximately 5 times over the last 45 days. I changed the thermocouple just to eliminate that as a possibility...no dice. So...

1) Anybody else had this happen...and any idea what's wrong?
2) Anybody know any reasonably-priced and reliable furnace service companies?

And totally unrelated... I'm looking for an electric relay to complete a doorbell extension project. The source is 10 VAC operating at about 1 A...the load is 16 VAC also at about 1 A. Any ideas where I might find such a relay, or am I going to be stuck making one?

Thanks boys. Double thanks to any girls who have answers.

I had problems with my pilot light going out, and it just needed a cleaning around it. I called fagnans and they offered good service

We had this happen on a regular basis -- called in ATCO to come take a look and it turned out that there was carbon buildup which caused the pilot light to go out...the ATCO guy cleaned it up and we have not had any problems since...

^ x2 on the carbon buildup. see if you can get a small blast of compressed air in the pilot nozzle (with the gas off, of course)

also, as a FYI, atco will do a free gas appliance check and adjustment. normally people ask for it at the beginning of the winter season, but they do it all year long. might be worth it for them to come check it out tomorrow.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Yup ... sounds like it needs a good cleaning. That happened to us once too.
