March Madness...begins early
The tournament seedings wont be decided for another 22 hours or so, but what a day of college ball.
To preface, I dont watch regular season stuff a whole lot because there is just far to much of it to follow.
That being said...as the conference tournaments have shown the games mean a LOT right now...in fact for many clubs it is playoffs right now.
Clemson beats Duke, Arkansas just beat Tennessee (in one of the best BBall games I have ever watched, UCLA just beat Stanford by 3 with a game tying shot going off the rim as the buzzer went, NC barely beat VT, etc etc etc.
Still to come Georgetown/Pitt and Miss St against huge underdog Georgia...both for conference titles and automatic births into the field of 64.
All this and I still am getting lots of hockey viewing in as well!!

you've got more TVs than Elvis going on there by the sounds of it.
I'm not a basketball fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I like to watch a bit of the madness every spring.

Kansas had a tough time getting by both Nebraska and Texas A & M in the Big XXII tournament. I don't know what that means for tomorrow's championship game against Texas, who absolutely throttled Oklahoma today. A KU win likely means a first seed in the tournament so there is something at stake. A Texas win gives that team two wins over KU this season and puts them in the mix for a #1. Should be interesting.

Just a crazy day.
How about the Georgia Bulldogs winning twice in about 12 hours to get to the final tomorrow...and beating Kentucky and Miss St in doing so? This was a 12 win regular season team...insane.
That Boise St/NM St game was unbelievable as well.
As for tomorrows games...I think I just heard ESPN mention that Clemson has played NC in NC 63 times...and have won but one time. Mind boggling.
Can Georgia complete the cinderella run agaist Arkansas and win the ultra tough SEC, and really throw a wrench into the selection commitees plans?
That Texas/Kansas game should be a wild one as well.
Awesome stuff.

I HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One thing that sucks I don't see the game being televised anywhere up around my area tomorrow.
I might have to listen to the game online.
I got to watch today's game and what a treat.
Clemson can win this game, they got an awesome press defence. The kicker will be free throws. Clemson was huge today at the line.
A win tomorrow and I think we get a 3 seed in march madness

Yes and I believe its 54 in a row since clemson has one at chappel hill.
Clemson ended a run of 22 losses in a row against Duke today.
Clemson took North Carolina to OT both times this year.

This clemson/NC game is a dandy as well thus far.
Heels up by 1 with about 3 minutes left in the first half...lots of running up and down the court and scoring by the bucketful.

this texas/kansas big 12 game is solid. good stuff. 69-65 texas right now.
EDIT: Kansas with a big 84-74 win, pretty much locks up a #1 seed for them.

Story of the year has already been written IMHO.
The Georgia Bulldogs who were 13-16 (IIRC) coming into the SEC tournament and seeded dead last on one side of the brackets, and whose ONLY way to get into the dance was to win the entire SEC tournament, who were forced to play TWO FULL games (of which one went into OT) yesterday, then turn around and play the 2 seed in the final...AND....come out on what had to be exhausted legs and do what was needed?
Simply unreal. Huge props to those kids...what a terrific memory this will provide them for the rest of their lives.
Now onto the selection show where some hearts are going to get broken because of the Georgia win...Az St and St Marys are likely victims.

And there are those heads out there who think that things like that are bad for college basketball. They believe the automatic bid for tournament champions 'dilutes the field' in the tournament.
Complete and utter morons.
