Help me track the name of this game down!
This game was mentioned to me by my fiancee, and I used to play a lot of NES and SNES and I just can't remember the name for the life of me. It was on the NES and you used to be able to select the color of the car you wanted to play with. The view was top down and all you saw was the track. No grass or anything. There were ice and oil patches to hinder your progress.
Help me!!! We've spent hours on google images with no result!
Edit: Oops can someone move this to tech talk for me?

Spy Hunter?
Were there other cars on the road?

Maybe it's that old arcade game that had a steering wheel and it was really tough to keep the car on the road as you went around the corners because you had to imagine you were actually in the car holding the wheel. You guys remember that one?
If Spy Hunter, ask your fiancee if you got to drive into the back of moving trucks to get smoke screens, oil slicks, and missiles. No better feeling than shooting down the helicopter with a missile.

She says all you see is race track and it's a small track, but all you see is race track outside of yours. It isn't one screen, so that ruled out Super Sprint. It was a gray track she says.
Edit: She swears it was NES for sure, as it was the only system she ever had.

Oh oh oh. I loved this game. I can picture it in my mind's eye. But the name eludes me right now! crap.
If I remember right, there were four colours to choose from. I was always red.
And for clarification Deegee. These were cars right? Not monster trucks?

Oh man I hated that game. Frickin impossible and a waste of money. That was the one with pretty basic graphics yeah? And you could see the entire track on the screen.

Yeah, I can picture the screen where you choose your cars. The driver was standing outside and was dressed in the same colour as the car.
I'm almost certain this was for NES. Either way, it was my favourite racing game.
Could you drive over bags of money and wrenches to help repair your vehicle? Or was that super off road?

Off topic but did anyone else have Pit Stop for the Commodore 64. That's the one where your tires and stuff would start to wear (ware? frackin homonyms!) out so you had to pull into the pit stop and then control all these little dudes to fix up your car.
Loved that game.

Naw, not micro machines. There was no boats or anything like that. Just cars. Kidder, you're thinking of Off Road for the wrenches and money!

I would have said Road Fighter but you only get a red car in that game.

Jiri when NES was out my dad wanted us to have a gaming system and he came across a Commodore 64 with like a box of discs with games. Pit Stop was awesome, though I loved Space Taxi.
I'm getting trouble with the misses for going off topic as she reads over my shoulder. I love her anyways.
