Default Chinook!

I thought this was really cool, easy to see the changes in barometric pressure, wind, and temperature in this afternoon's chinook.

Thanks wx.ca!

Yeah, I was just outside installing my new XM radio receiver and its freakin windy on the west edge of the city! But its not all that cold (hence the chinook).

Love the temperature but the wind made work impossible today, out near cochrane. Gusting well over 100 out there. Literally could not see the ground at my feet in some of the dust storms.

Mrs. C reports our house being blown off its hill west of Okotoks this afternoon.

Gusts ranging from 70-100 kmh according to her via the weather update phone site.

Ironically, it was calm and nice and toasty on Moose Mountain yesterday . . . but windy as heck on the prairies when we got home.

Pleasantly surprised when I left the house at 5:30am this morning. Was expecting minus 20. Knew it was going to warm up but didn't realize it would be so early this morning.

Cowperson, what kind of camera do you use? Your shots always come out wonderful.

Odd - usually I suffer quite badly from the Chinook headache, but nothing yet today.

It'll probably hit just as I'm getting to the Saddledome tonight.

Cow will tell you exactly this: photography depends more on the photographer than the camera!

Speaking of which, such nice weather and I skipped work again, I am going to go take some pictures outside. Later!

Nevertheless, I will be sheepishly throwing some thousands of dollars at a couple of new lenses this year, on the short, short end and the long, long, long end.

Nikon D-80. Nothing overwhelmingly fancy. But I don't need super fancy since it probably wouldn't survive the treatment it gets. Thanks for asking.

That's why my head hurts??

I also get air pressure headaches but, surprisingly, nothing today while I had a whopper a week ago.

I think my headache today is still remnants of a NYE binge combined with the chinook..

Advil is my friend
