What podcasts do you listen to?
My #1 podcast is on a hiatus right now for another 4-5 weeks, so I am currently scouring the net for some other good ones. There was a thread here last year where I discovered a few good ones (CBC's DNTO, PTI), but I am wondering what other CPuckers are listening to as far as podcasts go.
The podcast I was referring to right off the start is:
Pokerwire Radio w/ Gavin Smith, Joe Sebok, and Joe Stapleton. A poker radio show that is an offshoot of the also great but now defunct "The Circuit." On ITunes, and highly recommended for poker fans.
Also into DJ Premier's hip hop radio show, DJ Premier:Live From HeadQcourterz from Sirius, available at http://primo.podcastpeople.com/. I d/l the shows right from that site. Majority of the stuff he plays is grimy NYC style hip hop, uncut, mostly newer stuff, with Primo on the 1s and 2s. Good stuff.
And in the "classic" category, for those not familiar with them, are Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's podcasts that introduced the modern marvel Karl Pilkington. I won't say too much about them, except that you'll love them if you enjoyed "The Office" or "Extras."

I don't listen to any anymore really. During the LOST season, I was listening to that Podcast. However, those Ricky Gervais ones were great. Monkey News was absolutely hilarious.

I get to spend 40-50 minutes on a train every morning, so I stock up for the round trip...
My faves are:
- This American Life
- NPR's On the Media
- CBC's Ideas
- BBC Documentary Archive
- High Bias with LD Behtol (music)
- Real Time with Bill Maher (they actually do all the shows)
- This Week in Tech
- Escape Pod (SF Podcast)
- (Local Japanese choice) OK Fred musicpods
- oh, and the Ricky Gervais podcasts are classic.
I also listen to the news and sports as well, and pick and choose pods from a variety of sources (MSNBC, PBS, CBC, etc). I recently come to the realization that I actually listen to podcasts more than I watch TV!

I listen to the Adam Carolla Show daily via podcasts. One of the funniest guys you will ever listen to.
Other than that, I have the Flames Podcast, and Bill Simmon's (Sports Guy) B.S report. I also have 3-4 Fantasy Football podcasts, too.

NPR's "Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me!" is a fantastic podcast that I can't wait to listen to every week.
I also listen to the Best of Mike & Mike in the Morning.

yep. done by a guy and gal from "Escothia" (spanish for Scotland). at first it's kind of tough to understand their english, never mind the spanish, but you get used to it pretty quick. there are about 30 lessons out so far, so you can scoot through those at your own pace. once you catch up, you'll have to start waiting a week for the new ones. they also provide suplimentary material on their website that costs money, but the main weekly lesson is always free.
perfect for my 30min commute to work.

Bumping up this old thread to talk about the Ricky Gervais podcast. In the past, and when I originally responded to this thread, I had only listened to a select bit of the podcast that was available for free. I've since downloaded the entire three seasons of the podcast from iTunes, and am dying for more. This is some of the funniest stuff I have ever heard in my life. I desperately want to meet Karl Pilkington. Would buy the guy all the beer he wanted just to be able to sit there and listen to the man speak.

Sweet Ro, I've been looking for the Premier Podcast for a while, he was shut-down a little while ago from another one he used to do, thanks to the record companies.
I listen to a lot of hip hop/Funk/Soul Podcasts. THE best by far is "Rub Radio", DJ Eleven, Cosmo Baker and DJ Ayres... it's on www.brooklynradio.net check out the history of hip hop and DJ Eleven's Soul mixes.
Some others that are pretty good are www.hvw8.com
And www.solidstatela.com
Also Captain's Crates http://bywayof.net/loose_tape/index.html

I don't, but looking at what's available just from this thread, maybe I should start. The drive to work is about 25 mins if I'm lucky, and the drive back... 45 mins, again, if I'm lucky.
Plus, I'll be spending a lot of time in hospitals over the next little while. I've loaded up on movies on my ipod video... maybe podcasts are the way to go.
