I can personaly assure anyone looking at this remote that it is a FINE universal remote. Bought one myself and have been blown away by it. Program it via internet and it WILL run every component you own.

Is there anyway to find out if it could control my tv? I've had bad luck getting decent compatibility from a universal remote. My tv is a Polaroid 4210 42" plasma. I'm not sure who actually made the thing but it's branded with the Polaroid name all over it.

I checked online quickly and it seems like it can pretty much control all devices although in order for me to know for sure I would have to open the packaging and use the CD that comes with it and I am not about to do that. Maybe Goinalltheway can help answer this question.

I would have to check when I get home but I would be amazed if it didn't work. You may have had back luck with previous universal remotes but that is because they all blow. Every other remote I have owned prior to this one failed to work with at least one component. Assuming it is a fairly recent model, you wont have a problem. If I'm not mistaken, this thing is programable for something like 100,000 different devices .
Like I said before, this is a very cool remote.
**edit**
Yep, as per the link, this remote can work with 100,000 different devices by 3000 different manufacturers. I'm liking your odds.

Why do you not just take it back to bestbuy if it is unopened?
I think people would rather have the peace of mind they can return something rather than save $20

Big box stores are stingy on returns. I'm sure he can get a store credit, or an exchange for something, but maybe he wants the flexibility of cash.

Perhaps. All I am saying is that for $20 more you can go buy your own at best buy and have peace of mind you can return it if broke down. I would think returning it might be a better option becuase he shouldnt have to lower his price. It looks like a pretty kick a$$ controller.

No receipt unfortunately. Do you think they will still take it? I do not need a store credit as I will buy something that I don't need.

I think most places will not give you money back without a receipt.... but should offer you a credit for the sale amount.

I don't mind taking a hit on the price for my stupidity though (losing the receipt), I am willing to accept that.

Not sure I'm in the market right now, but could either of you (red sky or GoinAllTheWay) confirm that it would work with my Polaroid PLA 4210?

Crap, sorry, forgot to check last night. Like I said, I'm stopping just short of a full out yes. I'm 99% sure it will but without checking, can't say for certain. I will check the database when I get home tonight.
Honestly though, I would be blown away if it doesn't. They update their database daily.
Logitech doesn't actualy make these remotes, they bought a good ol Canadian company called Harmony and just slapped their logo on them. You KNOW a Canadian company would do it right though. I still hold that Canadian made products are amongst the best out there.

Confirmed, Polaroid tv's are supported by this remote.
This thing will even control your houses LIGHTS if you have the right setup. Also supports Xbox 360's, very cool.
