Default Does Telus have a go-anywhere portable Internet service?

I'd be interested in switching to a Telus portable Internet service if one exists? I want the ability to access the Internet anywhere, home, office or anywhere I happen to be (I travel lots). I currently have Telus and it's easier not to have to change my email address, etc. which I'd have to do if I move over to another service. Rogers has it for $105 a month. Does Telus offer this? Are portable Internet reliable?

I believe you would be looking for an high speed PC Connect Card and a service plan.

Will you require VPN access?

Check out the Bell WiMAX service -- $55/month for a 3Mbps connection.

That sounds like it's exactly what you're looking for -- you can bring your modem with you in your laptop bag and plug it in anywhere to get a signal. It uses cell phone towers and the speed is almost as good as dsl or cable. I have it for my ISP at home and it's been great -- decent speed for browsing, torrent downloading, and I can even play multiplayer PC and Xbox Live games without lag.

The downside is you'd have to change your email address, but just get a Gmail account and you're good for life anyway, regardless of what ISP you're with.
