Default Wall-E - New Disney/Pixar Film

This looks like it could be really good (and odds are it will be with Pixar behind it).

for sure it looks good, but when i saw the preview it confused me a little. Didn't quite get what the movie is going to be about.
Which is actually kinda nice, because I'm tired of previews giving away to much

I agree - hard to tell exactly what the plot will be. Pixar is one of those rare companies though that really does amazing work. I'd watch anything they make, just because they've never put a foot wrong before. I'm glad Disney has pretty much let them do their own thing since the takeover.

On January 24, 2006, The Walt Disney Company agreed to buy Pixar for $7.4 billion through an all-stock transaction. The acquisition was completed on May 5, 2006 (swapping one Pixar share for 2.3 shares of Disney), making Pixar a wholly-owned subsidiary of Disney.

From wikipedia.

Thanks Nehkara.. I wasn't sure what I had read about it back when it happend. It was a purchase by Disney, but the owner of Pixar became the largest shareholder in Disney, and the head of pixar Creative took over the same job at Disney. So it definatly was Disney who bought Pixar but, The pixar people became the "bosses" at Disney. Might be a good reason why the disney people let pixar continue doing thier thing

"Disney last week announced a $7.4bn takeover of its sometime-partner, sometime-rival Pixar in a move that is certain to be hugely significant for Apple.
On the face of it, the deal looks more like a Pixar takeover of Disney rather than the other way around, with key Pixar personnel taking over chief creative and executive roles in the new parent company.
However, the key appointment is that of Pixar (and Apple) CEO Steve Jobs to the board of Disney directors.

In addition to making Jobs considerably richer - a largely academic consideration for someone who is already a multi-billionaire - the deal also makes the Apple CEO the single largest stakeholder of the merged animation giant."
