Default Disposing of old mattress, preferably free

I just bought a new set at Leons and they don't pick up the old set.. Is there any company that picks up the old set? Do charities take them?

Come dump them in the garbage bins behind my work. Everybody else in the city brings their oversized trash here, you may as well too.

You can take it to a city dump for $5 if you have a truck.

Seriously you have three choices. Drive it to the dump, drop it off near a dumpster and let someone else deal with it, or fin someone with a construction bin and dump it in there.

I think SOME charitable organizations DO take it.

I would contact the Calgary Dream Center, Calgary Womens Shelter and Salvation Army. I think the Calgary Dream Center picks them up for free...Not sure about the other two but its worth a shot.

i started a thread exactly like this about 4 months ago.

What did I end up doing? Convinced my bro to let me borrow his car to take it to the dump. Couldnt find the dump, however (it was in north vancouver and we got bad directions). Ended up throwing it in a big industrial bin.

We recently donated one to the Women in Need Society. They came and picked it up, only conditions were that it be in good condition and not stained.

Surely you know somebody with a truck? Or an SUV - I mean, half the people in Calgary own one (and many of them post here, after a long day of cutting off slow drivers and honking at pedestrians, or so it seems...)

I know I used to have a truck I bought for cheap just to take care of problems exactly like this, and the best part was that people I hadn't heard of for YEARS would call me up wanting to borrow it - it was like the hillbilly version of Facebook!
