Anyone know any reputable Chowchow breeders in Calgary or nearby?

I've been wanting to get a Chowchow puppy ever since I fell in love with my uncle's chow, but they are a lot harder to find in Canada than I thought. I did manage to find a breeder in Vancouver but they're asking for upwards of 4000$ plus they have a long waiting list. Gah!

the chow chow club's registered breeders list only one breeder in Canada (manitoba), and none in washington state, idaho or montana. most good breeders will sell a puppy to qualified owners that live far away.

Well, they're not exactly an obscure breed. You see them occasionally at off-leash parks.

Maybe hang out at a popular off-leash park and chat up a few people who have 'em.
