WOOT! Thrashers hit the 60 point plateau and are unbeaten in 6 (4-0-2) with the 5-3 win over the Devils. A lot of shots both ways today(45-33 Thrashers). Backup Chris Mason started his 2nd straight game for the Thrashers and recorded back to back wins after a few months off from being injured. Steve Staios came up big and scored a couple of goals. Thrashers play the Penguins tomorrow which is their last game before the Xmas break.

PS......props to the Hawks! What is that 11 or 12 in a row?

a tie against the Bruins, big improvement from earlier in the year when they embarassed us a few times. Obviously the Bruins were no match for Jed "first star as always" Ortmeyer, Mike "3rd goal of the season" York and Nolan "2nd goal of the season" Pratt. on a more worrisome note, we outshot the Bruins and surrendered a 3-1 lead in the 3rd period

Pens use a huge 1st period to roll to a win over the Canes. The Pens outshot the Canes 14-3 and got goals from Olli Jokinen and Jason Spezza 14 seconds apart to build a 2-0 lead. Andy Sutton scored late in the 2nd to give the Pens a 3-0 lead before the Canes rallied in the 3rd with a late goal to ruin Niittymaki's shutout with less then 2mins left. Huge game tomorrow against the leagues top team.

Wooooo...Cheechoo woke up and we won a shooutout with the Wild! I believe we're now 12-0-2 in our last 14...except the Thrashers keep winning...todd marchant is out so we'll have to be creative for the last game before the break against the Flyers

Down 4-0, the Avs show character and battle back for the OT win.

After a couple of positive results the Flyers revert to their schizophrenic ways and lose 2-0 to the Dallas stars.

Still in a play-off spot but results like this have been too common for the Flyers this season and will not get them anywhere in the play-offs if they are lucky enough to make them.

Big win today for the Rangers, after Franzen was hurt the Rangers had to call up Hudler from the AHL. Hudler went out and collected 4 points................

Great win by the Stars! A personal thank you to Steve Bernier for showing up the last 2 games after I was criticizing him. He got both goals today and Legace got the shutout.

Things are really starting to come together here in Dallas. 4 straight wins, the longest win streak of the season. Beaten Philly twice which is incredible. Look who hit the ice for the Flyers today versus who hit the ice for me. Lo and behold I might have a chance at a playoff spot.

Tomorrow its New Jersey in the last game before the break. No reason that I can not beat them.

The Predators finally show some potential and beat the kings 8-3. Erat finally shows up for a game since he arrived in Nashville with a good 4 pt. night. The trick now will be to keep this energy into the next game!

656 OILERS 1 JETS 3
Embarassing. Unacceptable.

A day after the Oilers walloped the Anaheim Ducks 8-2 they hand the Winnipeg Jets their fifth win of the season.

If the game was lost on the basis of the Oilers starting their backup goalie that MIGHT be an excuse. But as it was, Lalime gave up a somewhat respectable 3 goals on 26 shots.

No, this game was lost by a bunch of floating forwards thinking their superior skill would enable them to will the puck into the net. They forgot that skill is nothing unless there is a work ethic to complement it. The fact that Karel Rachunek registered more shots on goal than the likes of Lecavalier, Iginla, Zetterberg, Alfredsson, Gagne et al. is ridiculous.

These bums need to learn to play a full sixty minutes every night and to play with discipline. They better come out with guns ablazing tomorrow back in Edmonton against the Ducks or there will be hell to pay.

Well my internet was down for a day or 2 so I'm just seeing the last couple of results now. Maybe I should leave the team more often...

On Thursday the Leafs beat the Nords 6-0 in a big Imlach Division matchup. The Leafs only allowed 18 shots in that game and Lundqvist stopped all of them. Boyle, Fisher, and Hejduk all scored twice. That's probably about the best these Leafs have played all year.

On Friday the Sharks came to town and again the team defense was great. Only 19 shots and 2 goals against in a 4-2 win.

The Leafs had won only once in 5 games entering this 5 games in 5 days stretch. Luckily things got turned around and we managed to win 3 out of 5 and earn a point in another game. Now some holiday rest.

OUCH!The Yotes didn't even showup for this game. The total offense came from the stick of the Mighty Duvie Westcott who scored an unassisted shorthanded goal in the 1st period.

Toskala looked the Jeff Reese and allowed 5 goals on 25 shots.

The Coyotes hope to bounce back with a strong effort against the Predators tonight before having a few days off for Christmas.
