Ducks get a hard fought tie without Legwand in the lineup!

However is came at a price as Grant lost it and told his team to goon it up, thus injuring both Zherdev and Tim Brent. The Ducks are really short centers and they play something like 5 games in a row so this hurts big time! We need at least legwand back or Slater will C the top line!

Decent game from our newbies, but Biron's poor performance cost us the game. Team fired 31 shots on goal too.

Yanic Perreault 1 1 2 -3 0 3 4 23

Weak effort, don't panic Yanic. - 3? LAME!

10 points for the newly-formed top line of Semin-Demitra-Jagr.

Zubrus - you've been demoted! Bwa ha ha ha!

Also, a minor trade alert:

To Avs:

Frank (don't call me Frantisek) Kaberle

To Isles:

Karlis (don't call me Carlos) Skrastins

Two very close defencemen in both the ratings aspect, as well as their salaries (4.5 for one, 4.25 for the other... 1 year difference in age):

Pogge, Pogge, Pogge!
Pogge backstops Flames to win over Jets.
Pogge stopped 30 of 31 shots and took 1st star honours in his first CPHL win.
When asked how he felt about the win, he had this to say,"I just wanna go "wanking" on my guitar!"

Goalie Statistics

David Aebischer (JET), 27 saves out of 31 shots, L, 5-21-2
Justin Pogge (FLA), 30 saves out of 31 shots, W, 1-2-0

Power Play Conversions

JETS 0 for 1
FLAMES 2 for 7

Game Stars

1 - Justin Pogge (FLA)
2 - Jochen Hecht (FLA)
3 - Patrick Sharp (FLA)

in AHL action
The Omaha Ak Sar Ben Knights destroyed that other team 20-1

Pretty even game between the Thrashers and Predators that ends in a 2-2 tie. Shots were 21-21 as well. Atlanta gets 2 goals from St.Louis. Thrashers play the Avalanche tomorrow.

Goon it up? There were no penalties called on either play... seems like your guys just hurt themselves.

We need conditioning lessons or skating lessons, our guys keep getting injured on plays with no penalties called, dont know what is goin on there.

Match of the week ended as a lot of other games have ended in the last couple weeks...a Hawk win! Luongo (2nd star) held down the fort while Perry buried the Game Winner with less than three minutes left. Luongo has played so well that we will now consider the NHL bound CuJo as trade bait for a weaker backup and winger.

Mike Rathje looked at Zherdev funny- that's more than enough to put Nikky out of the lineup.

With Vincent Lecavalier on the shelf and Brodeur going through a shaky stint (in both the CPHL and NHL), it was not all that surprising that the Oilers lost their second game in a row, this time to the steady Phoenix Coyotes.

The Oilers started the game strong on the road, staking the team to a 3-1 lead in the first ten minutes, with two of the goals coming on the powerplay. Unfortunately that would be all the goals the Oilers would score on the night despite finishing with 35 shots.

Phoenix used the first ten minutes of the second period to score three goals to put them in the lead. From that point on they played kitty-bar-the-door and despite 16 shots in the third period the Oilers could not solve Vesa Toskala for the equalising goal.

Fortunately for the Oilers Vincent Lecavalier has made a speedy recovery after an abdominal strain suffered at the hand of Canadiens forward Sergei Federov and will play tomorrow versus the Ducks. HalifaxDrunk should count his lucky stars that his team faced the explosive Oilers on the one day that Lecavalier was out of the lineup. Phoenix surely would have lost otherwise.

Another loss for the Bolts. Would have been nice to knock that punk Matt off his Saddle in Big D.

Blues make it two in a row after a four games loosing streak. Tucker gets the winner on a feed from Kessel and Crosby. Eaves gets his first points after returning from injury.

Kessel with 5 points in the last two games and Commodore with 4 to help reserect the Blues play off hopes

Leafs beat Rags 5-2.

Well that's the kind of game the offense is expected to play. A night after getting shutout by the Hawks the team rebounds with 5 goals and 43 shots. In response to the Hawks game coach Tom Renney swapped his top two centers for the first time this season. Marleau moved up to the top line with Hejduk and Bouchard, and Langkow moved to the 2nd line. Hejduk and Marleau score 3 points each, and Langkow also added a goal. So it looks like the change works for now.

And Lundqvist played a solid game as well. Nordiques on Wednesday.

Second time in a row we play the Bruins to a tie. Goaltending was the biggest difference in this one as we held a 37-25 shot advantage but couldn't take advantage.

Well thats the first time in awhile that we lost what was a pretty evenly played game where we had a chance to win. Shots were even, but we come out on the short end of a 3-2 score. Aaron Voros found a way to get onto the ice while Tortarella was checking himself out and collects his first NHL point in his first NHL game. Later on the Nords tried to end his career. You have to love how Lemaire coaches! But seriously Jason York spears a guy and no suspension...Thats weak!!!

That is 7 in arow but we really need to take less penalites. We continue to get points from our D as they combine for 7 points.

Big win for the Avs makes it three in a row. Avs playing some decent hockey lately and Huet continues to outperform expectations. Hopefully it can continue against the Thrashers tonight.
