Cops charged

The off-duty officers are accused of assaulting a man inside the Calgary Police Service administration building at 316 - 7 Ave. S.E. on Nov. 6.

Well everytime they "appear" to screw up. we have a thread and usually contains some "above the law comments"..well this time a pair of cops screwed up and are being charged...

Not much there in the way of information. Why they were all in the stairwell, how they know each other... I'll reserve judgement until we hear more.. but if they've already been charged... I think I know where I'll lean.

One way to look at is that both have been suspended and charged. My impression is that just about anywhere else it would be covered up and buried.

Years ago, and this is a rumor. If you were arrested and taken to the drunk tank in the downtown station it was expected that you would behave. If you acted up, were threatening or anything you were removed from the tank and taken upstairs for some paperwork. The elevator usually stopped on the way and a police officer dressed in a pink bunny suit would jump into the elevator and kick the crap out of you.

Because if you file a report how would it sound if someone who was arrested for public drunkenness reported that he was jumped in the elevator and had the crap kicked out of him by a giant pink bunny.

Interesting, it's certainly a "decent idea" by the police, except for the fact that more than one reportings of a beating by a pink bunny would probably raise suspicions. I had never heard of that though.
