Default Car Wash Thieves

Spawned off the lunch thieves thread... but interesting none-the-less.

Couple days ago, my fiancee was at the CO-OP on 85th and waited forever in line for the car wash. When it was finally her turn, she punched in her code, the door opened, and as she prepared to go in, she noticed the truck who was exiting the car wash ahead of her, had his reverse lights on. He didn't exit, and backed up and got another free wash out of the deal. Of course, when he finally exited, the door closed and asked for a code. Hers didn't work.

Now she's not the type to get into any sort of conflict, and all it took was a quick intercom chat with the cashier, and she got a new code. But, man, what a ######. I didn't even know you could do that.

wow thats brutal man. It makes perfect sense, I personally if I was going to steal/rip off the system. I wouldn't do it where I have to sit still and I have an identification system attached to me. That guy could easily get caught if you wanted to.
You definitely scared me though, as I just got back from a car wash where I turn my car over to the employee's

Being a semi confrontational person I would have been standing outside the exit with a mirror removal instrument demanding $10 for another wash.. What a ######..

A few years ago Johnny Rockets got caught by one of the TV stations stealing change and small items from cars.

I'd have gone into the store, purchased ketchup (or whatever the easiest product to put on his truck would be inside) and waited for him to vacate the car wash.

I guess he thought his truck was going to be "double clean".

While he was in there a second time, I would gulp back three bottles of water and push real hard. That way when he came out, he'd get some extra special windshield washer fluid.

That's a special kind of crap right there. I don't see the motivation behind stealing another persons car wash right after he got his.

Get out of your car, find something that can break his window, throw it at his window while he's in the wash. The inside of his car can get washed too.

I'd say call the cops... but there's no way they'd get there in 10 mins it takes to wash a car, nor care about a stolen car wash.

I would seriously be tempted to take my tire iron and whack his side-view mirrors off, or at least get a bucket of dirty crap water and wait for him to exit.

Not unless you parked in front of the exit....the only way he gets out is by purchasing another $10 wash, puncing in the code, and reversing out. You wouldn't even need to talk to him!

I would suspect the car wash manager would want to have a chat with him. Not only did the person steal from the Co-op, but they also risked damaging expensive car wash equipment.

I used to work at the gas station! Anyways another story, one night we had to turn off all the power because the was a natural gas leak(another story) and one guy bought a car wash, and tried to go in but because of the power being turned off although now back on the car wash was screwed up(as were other things). So he cames back, and I have gave a new code, and he said "I should get 5 free washes for my trouble" and drove off.

As for your story, what a , I would have followed him, waited till got out and pour paint thiner all over his nice clean truck...
