Anyone know a good babysitter?
I'm not sure if this is in the right forum or not, but what the heck.
I live in Midnapore and since moving here a few months ago, I have been unable to find a baby sitter. My cousin used to help me out but she started working on weekends now so that makes it tough.
I have an adorable and very well behaved 6 year old boy. I'm just looking for someone to come over on occasional weekday evenings and some weekends as well.
Know of anyone in the area?

Perhaps the most sad thread I have ever read on CP.
And if you even have to ask why... holy crap...

Whatever happened to a snifter of bourbon and a roll of twine? Thats all the babysitting I ever got and I turned out just fine.
Mind you I'm a bondaged obsessed, raging alcoholic, but beyond that perfectly normal.
Jokes aside, sorry man. I understand I'm not offering constructive advice, but I'm just trying to dodge my project. Does your community have a newsletter or hall? They usually advertise babysitters.

I've looked in my community newspaper, couldn't find anyone. I just took a long shot to see if someone here may know someone in the area that would be interested. I moved here from the NW and don't know anyone in the neighborhood.

Hey!! Some of us are perfectly normal, well balanced individuals who are sufficiently sophisticated to be intellectually beyond wildly exaggerated Japanese cartoons!
I cant name any off hand though.....
Hmmmm. I know this sounds crazy, but maybe ask your neighbors if they know of any local resources? Who knows, you might have a kindly old lady neighbor who likes kids, crochet and has more free time than God himself.
Maybe a local church youth group has babysitters or something?

I have to ask. Why?
Sorry Crazy Flamer cuz I got nothing and I don't mean to hijack, but I am wondering about such a nasty response.

Probably because you shouldn't be asking random people if they know of other random people who could watch your children.

Got to agree...mean response. People ask for all sorts of things on this forum, and it is a community as such.

He knows that jerks like me will take this opportunity to freely impose my sarcasm and useless suggestions (see bourbon and twine) and attempt to submerge this thread beneath a cornucopia of crap.
Thats right, I said it. Cornucopia of crap. I have no idea if its spelled/used correctly and I'm far too lazy to take the time to check.
Essentially, I think he understands that in the OT forum there are alot of liberties taken and we're a sarcastic/humurous bunch. I dont think it was a post that was meant to be mean.
In fairness though, we should do what we can to help the guy out, because there should be a certain amount of moral duty of care, at least to the point of not giving him the contact information for criminals or at least trying to point him in likely directions.
I'm waaaaaaayyyy too young to know the name of any good babysitters.
Seriously, ask your neighbors, you never know, one of them might know someone who runs a dayhome in your community or something.

Because people you meet randomly in real life are very different than someone you meet randomly through someone else? Its not like the person would just hand over the responsibility without ever meeting said person.

I guess I didn't read it the same way.
He didn't ask if anyone out here in the internet land would like to come over and hang out with his kid while he goes out for smokes, he asked if anyone might be in his actual neighbourhood and know of a a not-so-random person who happens to be a babysitter that they trust.

I usually let the local hobos take care of it.
They know the lay of the land, they know when the cops are around and they know that a half-eaten turkey leg retrieved from a waste receptacle (read dumpster) will shut a kid up in 7 seconds flat.
He'll learn a thing or two with them, thats for sure. And he'll never starve. His scars will never heal either, but he'll never starve.
Only problem is that for my second dates I sometimes go out hobo stompin' with the ladies and she usually kills at least a couple off. Its okay though, its just culling the weak, the kid has to learn that too.
On that cheery note, whats this babysitting gig pay? I gotta tell ya, I am gettin' tired of half-eaten turkey legs and I could use the money....

HOLY CRAP!! You have GOT to be kidding!!
"6 year olds" and "internet" don't belong in the same sentence, let alone with "babysit".
Perhaps you just give too much credence to the normacy of life.

Oooohhh.....too far? Not far enough? Considerable absence of depth perception? Tough call.
Funny though.
Alright, alright, I think one man can only take so many jokes about the safety of his kid, lets try and clean it up....

He wants to get rid of people like you and I. The local CP "degenerates", as it were.
I dont know about you, but I could sure use a lot less of me. I'm sick of me. There should be serious litigation against people like me.
But not until I flee the country.....
Back on topic:
Hey CrazyFlamer, whaddya know, Google comes up big again. Maybe give this a whirl or google something else.
