I recently started to re-watch it just for kicks, usually watch a bit for half an hour before I fall asleep at night. Just in the middle of Train Job right now.
I have to say my favourite episodes are Heart of Gold, and The Message.

Normally I don't blame networks for cancelling good shows - I typically blame the public for having crappy taste.
However this show was marketed very poorly. I am a huge fan of Joss Whedon and Nathan Filion (sp?) yet still didn't watch this show until it hit DVD. Why? Well I didn't know when it was on.
At least they did the movie though to give a sense of closure on it.
Fans of Filion will be interested to know that he has a movie coming out with Keri Russell, the hottie that played "Felicity". It's called Waitress and is generating some decent buzz. Hopefully it will expose Filion to a new audience - dude is a great actor.
Oh yeah and Keri Russel is in my opinion one of the prettiest actresses out there.

She looked a lot different in the last episode of Scrubs, I guess I'm not used to seeing her play the slutty, party ho type.

Yes indeedy. But she is also I think around 30 now so her look as changed from "Girl next door" to just a stunning woman.
I appear to have hijaked this thread.
Keri Russel should have guest starred on Firefly.
There...back on track.

How hard is it to market a kickass sci-fi western? HOW?
IT'S COWBOYS IN SPACE. It should sell itself.

Not good enough Jiri....Speaking of Scrubs, is it back next year, or is Zack Braff's salary too high now?

No sh*t hey.
I never new the show was on TV, didn't know about it until someone leant me their DVDs last summer.. how insane is that. All Fox had to do was say "The Old West.. in Space" and I would have watched, I never heard about it at all when it was on.
Playing it out of order was stupid too.. you need the Pilot episode before the Train Job.. sets up alot of things.

I actually saw the premiere. I had been looking forward to it. Then I saw a spaceship hovering over a train, and I didn't know who were the good guys and who were the bad guys. I wasn't impressed.
I didn't watch again until I was teh DVDs and watched in order. It still took me a few episodes to get into it, but then it seemed to work so well. All the characters were unique, none of them were perfect but they all complimented each other. The story could have gone on for many seasons.

I liked it.
Didn't get why the future was like the Wild West though.

I loved it. Fox did a cr*p job promoting it though. Never knew when it was on, and was confused as heck when it got cancelled. Wasn't sure if the show had actually ended, or it was cancelled.

My favorite TV program by far. Seen each episode more times than would like to admit. Likewise Serenity the movie. Was lucky enough to see it when it first ran on TV, and luckier that I missed the first (second) episode; so I almost saw it in order. Have insisted that everyone I know watch it. You can't stop the signal.

lol, I too have to chime in and agree with most of the posters that I never really knew much of it when it was on TV, but I always saw it mentioned on forums and such with such respect and pleasure that I just had too give it a shot. Downloaded the series, enjoyed it so much I bought the DVD's. Easily one of my favorite shows ever, a damn shame that it never really got the ratings it so deserved.
