Default That Europe ESPN streaming link

Machiavelli put up a link yesterday so we can watch NHL games online from the ESPN Europe site. Just wanted to ask if you guys found out or not if we are allowed to post links for that now or not. The picture quality on there is awesome, I hope it's allowed!

I don't think there's any official way to "find out whether we're allowed", it's simply up to the mods. Given that the actual ESPN360 site blocks traffic from non-European IPs, they obviously didn't intend for NA audiences to view those feeds. Technically, what you are actually watching is NHL Center Ice through Europe's ESPN VOD site.

Additionally, we don't know how long that feed will be viewable, according to some posters, there's a time limit on how long these feeds will be freely viewable. When the site was in beta, only registered users with European IPs could view the feeds.

Yeah it's tough to decide sometimes.. I'm more prone to allow it if it's from an "legit" site like ESPN or something rather than some site which is clearly all about rebroadcasting stuff.

Why pour gasoline on the fire oilfan!? It's from ESPN, in my eyes, it's their responsability to block it if it's not supposed to be viewed in NA. The internet is all over the world, you know.

From Nov. 22 on the ESPN360 service is nolonger available for free view. The cost of the service is €79.99/year, there are daily passes and 2-day passes and other packages for costs like €6.99, etc. You'll still need a European proxy to access the main site.

In any case, this is still cheaper than paying for NHL centre ice from Shaw for $219.00 CAD but can be a headache to make it work.
