Hi guys,

Not sure why the check code was added in order for you to do a search, but it is a pain in the arse. Haven't seen anything like that implemented on searching any other forums.

Are we not encouraging people to search first (for creating threads, finding approriate one to read)? This would seem to be a step backwards.

Hmmm, it's not asking me to do any sort of code verification. Are you sure you are signed in correctly when searching? Because IIRC that should only come up if a guest tries to do a search.

You should only see that if you are surfing while not logged in, in which case you can't post anyway. EDIT: What he said.

It's basically to eliminate the potential of a denial of service attack where someone begins tons of searches to overload the server.

Well that explains that.... so much for my Call of Duty lurking/posting style....
