Default 29 injured in Greyhound bus accident near Grande Prairie

Driven that stretch many times, and when it gets slick, it gets nasty. I'm heading up to GP for the long weekend. Hope the roads are in better shape on Friday.

Bezanson is near the epic downhill slope into the Smokey River isn't it?

You could easily see something going wrong on that hill.

It is indeed. I sometimes cringe going down that hill in the summer.

Yep, that's pretty close to where we had our bus crash. In 1997 we were on a concert trip to see U2 in Edmonton. Our driver had a stroke behind the wheel. Somehow we clipped mirrors with a semi, but the truck driver was able to avoid the crash.

I sure don't miss that stretch of road.

I imagine that GP has been getting the same crappy weather as PG. Even my Land Rover has been slipping and sliding all over the place.

They finally finished the twinning of that highway (excluding the Indian Reserve). So that helps, but I have had many close calls on 43 also. Spun out with no warning in January and surely would have been dead or injured if a snow bank hadn't stoped me from hitting the ditch and rolling. I am glad I don't travel on that highway anymore.
