Default Good Skiing Accomodations for New Year's?

Since I have exhausted almost all of my other resources I thought I would see what CP could come up with for idea's.

Here is the scenario: There is a group of about 10 of us that want to go Skiing for New Years. We would be looking to rent a place from about the 29th to the 1st. Because there is 10 of us we are hoping to find a place that is a large chalet/lodge where we can all stay together. Preferably with a kitchen so we don't have to go out for every meal.

If it had a hot tub and a ping pong or pool table that would be a bonus. It doesn't have to be right on a ski hill but within about 20 minutes would be great.

I know we are really late on this, most things are booked already but that is why I am asking CP. Anyone have any good ideas? We don't care which ski hill it is as long as it is within about 5 hours of Calgary.

Fernie, Kimberely, Whitefish, Golden anywhere really would be great.

Anyone have a property they want to rent or know of someone that might? Any good websites to check out to find a place like this?

I have a feeling we might be SOL but I thought I would try.

this is a nice place. don't know what your chances are at this time, but it worked out to about $30-40 per person, per night when we were there for New Years a few years back.

who knows, with the high loonie, Canadians will be going south and Americans won't be coming north; you may have a shot

Isn't there a new ski hill opening in Revelstoke this year?

In Kimberley, try Kirkwood Inn or Inns West, they are right beside one another, personal preference is Kirkwood Inn. They are like condo units, each will sleep 6 so you would need 2, full kitchens etc, loft set up, more than one bath, full kitchens etc, ski lock up, right by the downhill lifts, just have to walk across the parking lot, and right beside, just a few steps outside your door, are the cross country trails, they are double track set, and also have 3k lit for night skiing. Hot tubs in the facility but not with each unit. Probably booked but give them a shot.

In Whitefish, try the Ptarmigan condos, again, likelihood is they are booked. You could get away with 2 units here. Fully equipped kitchens etc, not sure about hot tubs or pool.

Fernie has a lot of great homes right on the hill that would service your group, but again, popular and might be booked. Try this website. Just click on Canada, then BC and then look what is under the Fernie listings. I have used this site for rentals all over the world, most have pics, u know exactly what you are getting into. Otherwise, try listings right in Fernie, is only 5 to 10 minute drive to the hill anyhow.

For instance, this is the type of home you can expect at Fernie, this sleeps 10, has your hot tub too, does not say if open for the dates you are looking at, you would have to check.

Also consider Schweitzer, by Sandpoint, Idaho, a bit further to drive, but great for both downhill and cross country. We have stayed in private condos right on the hill, you ski right to your door. Try the website above and see if you have any luck there. Like for instance, this booking. Don't know the exact location, sleeps 12, has a hot tub. And according to the calendar, is open for the time frame you are looking at.

Kind of late for booking now, usually for large groups like that, better to start in spring. but good luck!!!
