I think I'll remember him most on the early 90's Howie Mandell show on CBC. It was a series of stand up gigs he did at like a jubilee auditorium type venue. In the middle of one of Howie's stand up routines, Lassie comes running in and barks at Howie. Howie responds:
What's that girl, Robert Goulet is trapped under a boulder in the foyer?!?!?!
Howie runs out, and sure enough, Robert Goulet is trapped under a boulder. Howie pushes it off and Robert Goulet walks in and thrills the crowd with some rendition of some song. I was laughing so hard I couldn't listen to what he was singing.

It's too bad he never got his Canadian citizenship! He just didn't "spend" much of his early life in Canada. He's as Canadian as you and I (without the official status). He was born in the U.S. to french canadian parents but moved back when he was only months old and grew up here up to when his career started really going.
The guy was a radio announcer at CKUA in Edmonton when he was in school.
One of my grandma's friends or relatives I cant remember now was his first wife. Actually now that I think about it she lived at my grandma's mom's house, but I dont know if she was related to her. My granda called him a pompous @$$.
I only remembered this because a copy was sitting by the toilet at work a few years ago and I was laughing uproariously while taking a dump . . . . and I think Goulet would have appreciated that.
