weird, I wonder what the investigation into his disappearance was like? Sounds strange, in that she just told her kids their dad died in a car crash. I guess the kids would just take mom's word for it, weird though, you'd think someone would hear about that explanation during that time and think to themselves "I don't remember a car crash, or a funeral, or whatever"

Well, apparently the family was fairly screwed up at the time. The kids were estranged/separated from their parents at the time, and wouldn't have been in any position to be at the funeral.

Still strange that they wouldn't have asked to see the grave to say goodbye or anything....
