So any of you doing something special this Christmas for your girlfriends/spouses? Maybe a special gift? Let's hear it.
It'd be cool if we could share some ideas with each other. It's tough enough to think up of things to make your girl feel special, a wheel that does not need reinventing in my opinion.
So got any? Here's mine...
I'm giving her a basket filled with relaxation stuff, like bathsalts, scented candles, and a sleep robe...things like that...

Advertisements for Safires keep mysteriously appearing on my office desk at home.
It's just a guess, but I think that might be a hint.

Well, mine already got an engagement ring this autumn, so it's going to be a somewhat modest Christmas. However, the key is to making gifts personal. If you want her to feel special, it has to be a gift that demonstrates how well you know and understand her. Yeah, that can be tough to do sometimes.
Homemade artwork is always great, as long as it's not crappy. Or make her a necklace by going to one of those fancy bead stores (there's a great on in Inglewood right by the Harley dealership).
Subscription to her favorite magazine, and it keeps on giving, all year round. Plus, if you break up with her and meet a new girl midway through the year, you can just have the subscription transferred over.
Clothes are usually good, especially if you know her size.

Nice find!
I like this one. Really like it. I think that you have just finished my Christmas shopping for me!
My girlfriend and I this year have something set up - a small gift for each other (say only for 10 - 20 bucks) and then we will use what money we would have spent on each other on either an event out, or even just so that we can afford to do some stuff during the holiday season .

Yeah, that's a pretty good idea (subscription to magazine). Here's another one...
This requires a bit of money, but a friend of mine is sending his fiancee to a day spa for a complete relaxation treatment.

I'm performing "our song" on a multitrack studio setup and giving her a CD with the original version along with my version for Christmas. I figure I'll be able to ride "Points Credit" for a while.

For $19.95 from futureshop.ca you can order a personalized calender, you can personzlized all 12 months, plus add all the special dates you'd like. So if you have some pictures of you two that is a good idea, or you could even do it up for her full of pictures of her pet dog or something.
Take it from a girl, its the thought that really counts. Do NOT just go to the Body shop and get bath bubbles-thats not going to get you anywhere.
Good luck

I just had a sweeeeet idea
Photoshop a bunch of pics of my friends in compromising situations, make a calendar and give it out for Christmas.
Come to think of it, I don't think I need to photoshop anything.....

REally, they charge 20 bucks for that?
My family - well ok my mom - has done that for YEARS now. She gets a picture laminated, buys the bindings and uses a dirt cheap calendar making program. Does wonders.
And I admit it is kind of cool.

I ordered a calender for my dad for Xmas featuring pictures of our dog. I considered doing it myself with a program, but it takes so much time and ink, i figured $20 is well worth it to have it done and bound for me.
It turned out really good.

You know you would rather have a Plasma TV than a personalized bubble bath. You're a guy!! [/b][/quote]
My fiance hates presents like bubble bath and that kind of crap so I guess I'm doing okay. If we could afford it I'm sure she'd like a Plasma TV, too. Her parents have a 55 inch "Big Ass TV."

It really depends on what kinda girl she is. I know my girl likes things like that, so I'm getting her a relaxation basket. It's kinda like a fruit basket, only filled with relaxation stuff...
Here's a short list of what's in the basket:
1) bathsalts
2) scented candles
3) gift certificate to a spa for relaxation treatment
4) Sleep robe
and so on...
Believe me, it takes into account both the cost and time to put this together. Wait till she sees how the relaxation basket is wrapped up. I think she'll be surprised to find out that I took the time to learn how to wrap it up nicely for her (I've been acused of being a horrible gift wrapper).

Thats awesome. See, girls like to know how much thought and effort you've put into something. All girls really want in life is to know that they are special and that you've thought about them.
I'll give you guys an example: it was recently my b-day and one of the presents my boyfriend got me was a shirt. I was like, thats sweat- a girl can never have too many clothes. Then my boyfriend told me about how he went into an ALL girls store and picked it out all by himself and then when he bought it- they gave it to him in a PINK bag! Then he told me how riciculous he looked walking around the mall carrying a pink bag.
This makes me feel special - because he did it for me (I know it sounds lame- but girls generally are lame).
He also got me a Casino type Xbox game. And he said, he thought it would be good to play together and I can practice playing games (as we might be going to Vegas during Reading week). This was really nice as he can normally not stand playing Xbox with me because I am so unberably bad at it.
After my babble- I think your relaxation gift is nice and I'm sure she'll love the wrapping. Might I suggest that you include something that you can share together. As much as girls like stuff for themselves, they also like knowing that you want to share something with them. This could be something as simple as going to Starbucks and getting a few small bags of bulk coffee and telling her you thought it would be nice it you two could try some different coffee flavor together this holiday.

Damn! You're a genius! That's a fantastic idea. I was kinda thinking to myself that it'd be nice if we can do something relaxing together. I think I'll do that. Thanks!
