Default Where to buy Bue-ray movies?

So I just picked up a Blu-ray player and it spectacular. My only problem is movie selection- it sucks. Does anyone know of a good place to pick them up besides the ole standbys, Futureshop and Best Buy?

Thanks in advance.

ebay.com, you save also with the low US $.

Blu-ray is relatively new still, your best selection in town is sadly still Futureshop/Best Buy.

Amazon.COM!

Best selection of Blu-rays, bar-none. Good prices too, even after shipping. The Shipping costs around $8 for the first disc and then $2 or so for each disc after that. With the great exchange, you come out way ahead of a local purchase.

Right now, they are having a Buy One Get One Free on select Disney/BeunaVista and Sony titles. In the past, similar sales have lasted only a couple of days, so hurry! You have to get right to the last check-out page, right before you click 'Process Order', to see your discounts.

Here are the Disney titles:

Here are the Sony titles:

I have placed 3 orders from them now, and haven't been charged any Duty or GST yet. It can happen though, but it is rare - probably about 1/10 times it happens. The reason it doesnt happen is because they use a shipping company that originates the shipments from Eastern Canada.

On my three orders, using Amazon sales, I have managed to get my average purchase price to about $16.50 Cdn per disc, on 48 discs.

As mentioned, BestBuy and Futureshop have the best local selection. Wal-Mart also has a great selection. HMV and Music World have limited selection, but are also having a Buy One Get One free sale right now, but it isnt as nice as Amazon due to the originally high prices.

As an aside, what player did you get? A PS3? They are hard to pass up for $399.

There's also something like this:

http://www.zip.ca

So you can rent them without having to buy them.

Futureshop also has a buy one get one free promo going. I just bought 10 bluray discs from www.jr.com . $12.95us! Try to buy a pixar film like Cars or Rataouille. Made for bluray. I find that some of the older movies like 5th element aren't as crisp as some of the newer movies.

I just made an order with amazon.com last nite for the buy 1 get 1 free. Ummm it's a great price but how come it costs $23us to ship 8 dvds to Calgary?? hahaha. still worth it but...

For one day only (today), the web merchant is offering a full 55% off select Blu-ray discs from Fox and MGM.

The unique deal kicked off early this morning and includes such popular titles as 'Speed,' 'The Transporter' and 'Ice Age: The Meltdown,' all priced at just $17.99. In all, 17 titles are included as part of the promo.

http://amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000165591&pf_rd_m=ATVP DKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=right-1&pf_rd_r=0XFGA152GE5PTM2V9NPS&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd _p =329264201&pf_rd_i=193640011

It can be a fair deal if you can order enough of them to negate the shipping costs. After 4 discs, the shipping drops to about $2 extra per disc.
