My girlfriend and I went and looked at those places a month ago. I feel terrible for the people who lost all their stuff.

My wife called as she was in the area.
She says it is as big as the condo fire that was near the talisman center 6 years ago (which she witnessed as well).
Flames consuming the entire west side.
Hope everyone is okay!

I can see the smoke plume from Mount Royal. Definitely looks like a biggun.

That's the "Canvas" condos isn't it? I was pretty close to buying one, but it's all wood frame, which isn't good for...well...fire.

Flames are pretty big and also visible through the smoke, even from downtown. Must be cooking!

I definitely don't care for the timber construction condos. All the newer ones have firewalls to prevent it from spreading. But it doesnt look like it helps when the fire spreads across the roof of the structure.

Looks like it might be Canvas. I was thinking of buying in there a couple years ago.

Very impressive blaze. A towering inferno. There's something you don't see every day.

I live pretty close to those condos and the smoke is so bad, I actually thought my house was on fire until I heard the news.

Any word if any of the other buildings have caught fire? My friend lives in the complex closest to the CTrain line.

Looks like they've got it under control now. I can see it pretty good from my office in Sundance.

Someone on CP used to live in there last summer, I went there to look at a car he was selling.
