The planned promotion by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks for tonight's matchup against Boston has been cancelled.
The Anaheim Police have stepped in and put a stop to the "Guns for Hunters" promotion. The Ducks planned to give away 2,000 shotguns along with boxes of blank rounds for the game tonight. Anaheim Ducks President and CEO Leslie Nielsen is clearly upset "I thought it would be a fun way to celebrate a goal".
The Anaheim police think differently "Placing free guns into the hands of Californians is never a good idea" said Chief of Police Roger A Baker, "The Bruins roster will take a bad enough beating tonight, shooting at them would only be adding insult to injury."
President Leslie Nielson has said this will not put a damper on future promotions.
