The Beatles' 1968 song Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da has been voted the worst song ever in an online poll.
The track was on the band's White Album - which is often regarded as one of the best albums ever made.
Agree/disagree?

hmmmm "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith makes me want to kill someone, and I like Aersosmith
I remember being at the corner store that used be by my house when I was back home, and seeing new Spice Girls gum. I said to the store clerk (a good buddy of mine) "I can't wait until this band is gone, same with the Backstreet Boys" ... and now they are ... and I am happy
however worst song that I hate the most
you know that Christmas song "it went bip when it went, and bop when it stopped and whirled when it stood still, I never knew just what it was, and I guess I never will" or something to that effect. One Christmas I swear it was the only words to come out of my little brother's mouth (he was young like grade primary or one). Annoyed me to no end (but that's what little brother's do right?)
hmmmmm other than that.... nothing really, I'm a music lover not hater (but when I hate, I'm ready to kill )

What exactly is so bad about it? I know its Nothing Special but I didn't think it was all that bad either.

I clicked on this thread knowing full well that whatever song was voted number one would be stuck in my head for hours.......
To compound that I now have visions of a dancing Corky Thatcher in my head. Thanks Cow.

I thought "We Built This City" by Starship got that award. And I thought it was very deserving of it. Other songs that come to mind:
"Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" Aerosmith - Maritmer said it well above. Absolutely horrible.
the "Party" song by Andrew W K, or whatever the hell his name is. WTF? Total garbage.
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da is great.

Well you'll be pleased to know the 'Boys are making an encore with an upcoming album that's guaranteed to blow your socks off. But most likely, it will just blow.
Worst song? That "Baby I got your Money" song that clubs use as their official party anthem. What a waste of effort and resources. Pitiful.

 Now I've got that stupid Who Let the Dogs Out song in my head..... I have to agree that this is the worst song ever. I don't see how people could think that Obladi-Obla-Da is the worst, that just doesn't make sense to me. It's not the great but it's definitely not bad either.

The Macarena would have to be up there. Anything by The Darkness and their asexual frontman/woman too.

I know what you mean, but The Beatles... weren't they pretty much the first big "Boy Band"?

hmmm a few comments
I love TCB by BTO "that's how we talked in the 70's there wasn't a second to spare"
As soon as the Backstreet Boys changed their name to BSB it was over, same with NKTOB (can you tell I took a popculture music course?)
calgaryred, quick question: How can you love that Beatles tune, yet not like anything sung by a boy band? The Beatles are "THE" boyband. Mind you it can be argued that The White Album took them from generic "boyband" status to regular "band" status. But realize that's how they started
I think you mean "modern era boy band" in whichcase I'd generally agree with that

The Beatles didn't start the boy band phenomenon, they started modern music as we know it today. I'm pretty sure no boy band could play their own instruments and write an album like Sgt. Peppers.

when they started they were singing overs, and just putting out albums. When they got more freedom they expanded and did their own thing.
Backstreet Boys play their own instruments, that argument falls.
They grew out of being a boyband, and into legendary status. They got their start as a boyband. Will they be remembered as one? Hell no, nor should they be.
