An American Federal Prosecutor arranges to have sex with a 5-year- old. What he didn't know was that it was an undercover sting operation and he was caught.

The undercover detective expressed concern about physical injury to the 5-year-old girl as a result of the sexual activity. Detectives said Atchison responded, " I am always gentle and loving; not to worry, no damage ever, no rough stuff ever. I only like it soft and nice."

The undercover detective asked how Atchison can be certain of no injury. He responded, "Just gotta go slow and very easy. I've done it plenty," according to detectives.

This story is absolutely disgusting. Why some people find pleasure doing these sorts of things just puzzles me. He should be locked away for life and just let him wither in prison.

Yes, this guys is fricken scum of the earth and should be removed from society....but what I dont get is how easy people can condone further acts of violence such as killing and stoning. It makes you no better than him.

Nobody has suggested stoning or killing the innocent five year old. Then they would be on the same level as the offender.

Still I don't support the death penalty for this guy. The strategic use of a vice, rusty tin snips, iodine, and smelling salts would be far more appropriate.

I would think purposely inflicting any sort of harm on a five year old girl is way worse than the worst thing imaginable that could be done to the offender of that 5 year old girl.

It's a great way to inflict pain and embarrassment on a pedophile, but unfortunately it wouldn't solve the problem of their predatory behaviour. In my deviancy class a few years back we talked about this and the prof said that castration is only effective at stopping sexual desires if it is done before the person reaches puberty. If it's done after puberty the person will still have the desires, but will not be able to perform them (obviously). It may reduce their danger to society, but they would remain a significant threat.

Are you saying that it prevents them from getting an erection? Because I dont think that is the case.
