I noticed that today as well and wasn't quite sure what was going on. I hope they still re run the same good shows!

Are they going to compete against Treehouse?
With a name like that, it sure sounds like it.

If I am reading that right, we likely wont notice any difference.
Peachtree is a local station, while the national TBS superstation will remain.

That's ridiculous. But then again, I don't watch anything else on TBS "THE SUPERSTATION" besides wacky reruns of Saved by the Bell at 5 in the morning. Are we going to get Peachtree (which is basically an Atlanta local station) or still get the national TBS station? That would be pretty silly for Shaw to carry a local Atlanta channel for no reason.

Sounds like a feminine name for a TV network

It is an Atlanta thing, so "Peachtree" does make sense, but it does sound like the name of a porno channel.
Does Ted Turner even own it anymore? Maybe that's why they are changing the name.

I could be wrong but from what I understood the peachtree tv name is for the local atlanta area (where tbs originates) and TBS will still be the superstation call name. Basically they're splitting into 2 stations...a specialized local channel and a national channel.
Quote:
While Peachtree TV takes over the local broadcaster position currently held by WTBS, TBS' national cable feed will become available to Atlanta's local cable and satellite operators, offering the network's signature comedy programming.

Yeah, its just regional. The NCLS on Peachtree TV, doesn't quite have the same pop.
It was that or "Mint Julip on a Kentucky Veranda" TV.

Next thing you know, "Dinner and a movie", will be replaced with "Beauty tips and a movie."

Well they do, or at least they did, have "movie and a makeover" so I think "Dinner and a Movie" is safe for now.

Shaw cable channel 40 is now Peachtree TV. Looks like we do get the local Atlanta station?

I just realized TBS...or peachtree TV or whatever they're calling themselves these days DOESN'T have an HD channel. However the do have the MLB playoffs. I think you can tell where this is going...
Unbelievable step backwards. Just wow.
EDIT: errr nvm....Looks like they have one

Interestingly, viewers in Atlanta itself could not get TBS until yesterday. They got the WTBS feed that has become Peachtree. Now, they get both.
Apparently we always got the WTBS local feed, rather than the TBS national feed in Canada. That is why we are seeing the Peachtree logos.
