Anyone know where I can pick up a Wii in Calgary? I got "nominated" by a bunch of friends that since I'm the only one in a large centre I should have no problem finding one...and now I'm not having any luck.

Any suggestions? I tried searching for the term "wii" but nothing popped up...?

You just have to get lucky. It's the hardest thing out there to find and with some big releases right on the horizon it isn't going to get any easier.

Try calling electronics stores and asking what days they get their shipments in and then go in early that day.

I know EBGames in Northland Mall gets shipments on Tuesdays so try calling early that day. They had some in stock last week but they're probably all gone by now.

Use consolewatch. It will send you an email letting you know when they are in stock online at a couple places.

I had a heck of a time finding one.

Futureshop and Bestbuy both get their shipments on Friday, so try being at one of those as early as you can. When I got mine about 2 months ago they told me that they are usually sold out by noon.

I actually didn't even get mine from one of those two (both in Deerfoot meadows), so I tried the EB games across the street and they had one.

Anyway, go to one of the big stores and find out what days their shipments come, and then be there as early as possible.

Actually you will have better luck find them in a small centre like Taber and the Hat.

My housemate just got one this weekend. I'm ashamed to say he went to Walmart, but he said he just walked right in and picked one up. He said there was a whole display.
It was the Walmart in Northland Mall.

i did the same, just i got mine at superstore, but i know futureshop always gets shipments on fridays, so you can try going right at opening on a friday to try to get one, if not call superstore in the mornings, i went in the afternoon when i got mine and it was the last one

I just got mine last weekend. Ended up ordering one in from Costco. That would be my best suggestion. I doubt you'll find one for sale on the floor unless you show up at 10 AM on delivery day.

Try Blockbuster, normally on Tuesday or Wednesday.
People don't think to look there.

Walmart on 130th Ave SE has them quite often. I always glance when i'm in there. I've seen then 3 or 4 times outta 10. Which is better then I've seen at any other store.. Gonna have to get lucky though, you can try toys R us as well.

Worth it though just to play Tiger Woods Wii!!!

Costco.ca has quite a few bundles in stock. Also the NE costco had some in store last Sunday.

Another place I have heard people have had luck with is Rogers Video. Another place you wouldn't think to look.

Zellers and Toy R Us have been getting weekly shipments. Toy R US had around 30 to 40 systems last Saturday.

How much are they generally retailing for? I played with one for the first time last week and I'm considering picking a Wii up (and I'm not a video game kinda guy).

Also, I'm excited that it's Days of Deals time again at Dell - more toys!

Thanks all for the help guys...believe or not, I spent about 6 hours today going to every retailer possible in the NW and most of the SW and couldn't find anything. Ironically, my mom back home in Terrace, BC found them at wal-mart. So, it all came full circle I guess.

I didn't have the money but the one place you should check into is Superstore.. they had 30 a week ago and they sold out within an hour, I know someone that works there and I usually watchout for them, if I hear anything I'll post here because I will find out the night before they are actually in-stock.
