The conditions today are just perfect, we're seeing a lot of really good golf. I'm glad Weir is doing well and holding his own. It should be a very interesting next few days.

I thought it was delayed by rain?

What I meant was since it rained, there is no wind and the greens are really soft. We're seeing a lot of guys just sticking their shots close. With the greens being soft, it really gives the players a chance to be aggressive with their putts. The only down side with the rain is if the players get it in the rough, the ball can get really stuck causing problems. Other then that I think the conditions are pretty good. Should have said the conditions are decent, bad choice of wording on my end

No worries, I had just been to PGATour.com earlier and they had said things were delayed by rain. I was a bit surprised when you said conditions were perfect. I figured it was a drastic change in weather.

Brutal!
Looks like the streak of the hosts sucking whenever an event if held in Canada will continue.
Singh/Wier might get the only 1/2 point of the entire day and even they blew a 3UP lead to achive that.
5.5 - 0.5 .... looks anticlimatic for the weekend.

A very up and down day for both teams. The International side just has to say to itself lets just forget about today and start over kind of like what Gary Player said to Els when he missed the putt on the 18th. Hopefully the International team can come back tomorrow and make this interesting.

Looks like it is indeed getting interesting. Very strong day so far for the internationals, and they could easily be back within a point by the end of the day.

I normally cheer for the USA in the Ryder Cup, but I've been pulling for the Internationals this week. It's a lot easier to do so with different guys on the Intl team than the Ryder Cup team, especially Mike Weir. Tough morning today though. Incredible shots being made though from both teams.

Well, this thing was pretty much over after Saturday, but it was great to see Weir play some great golf against Tiger and pull out his singles match in front of a loud crowd in Montreal. He was 3-up for a while today, but Tiger managed to come back to get ahead 1-up with only two holes left. I'm sure most people figured that was it for Weir, but he managed to make a nice putt to pull even at 17, and then won the match after Tiger put himself in a huge hole by hitting his drive in the water on 18.
Loved hearing the crowd get really into it, and it looked like Weir was almost ready to get a bit choked up in his interview after the match when asked about beating Tiger in his home country in front of some fantastic support by the gallery in Montreal.
The U.S. still won the event pretty easily, but a great day for Mike Weir. Hope that helps give him a bit of a boost and get his career back on track a bit.

First time the USA has won the Ryder Cup on forgien soil.
Weir was impressive today. Should silence some of the critics who felt Ames should have been on that team.

The Presidents Cup is the US against the world except for Europe.

LOL, third times a charm in figuring out the Ryder Cup vs. Presidents cup I guess.
Course was in pretty nice shape and there was some great golf played this week. Stewart Cink was on a serios roll today in his singles match. The Cabrera vs. Woody Austin match was good too, as was Sabatinni vs. Verplank. Even though the cup was all but decided, there was some entertaining golf that was worth flipping too.
After the U.S. Open I heard Ames talk about how golf has to embrace that it's entertainment and people want to see these guys hole out shots, stick it close and make birdies. IMO the fans will watch the U.S open, but it's not enjoyable for them type of thing. Seeing a course like Royal Montreal and what the players could do, I think the fans there probably did enjoy watching that a lot more.

Vijay chipped out of the sand into the hole 5 times this week. There was just some amazing shots out there. And the course looked perfect, the weather was perfect. Some really good sportsmanship. And a very good tournament.
