Default New NE LRT Station

I've been trying to find info on this unsuccessfully...

Does anyone know when the new NE LRT station is opening. All I can find is Fall 2007, but no real date or projected date.

Thanks!

I have heard November but it could be as late as December and this was from my community paper. I would say ask the local aldermen but she doesn't think it's important to respond to my 5 question/concerns over the past 3 years so I don't she will respond to you. Helen needs to go this election.

I agree...going to sidetrack my own thread here...My gf went to the debate before the last election and Helene sat there like a little baby huffing and pouting whenever one of her oponents argued or disagreed with her - that is not someone I want representing me in city hall.

Thanks for the info on the station though, I'm very excited on its opening.

On the Calgary Transit site....

I still think it is ######ed that they named the new station on the far NE end "Westwinds". You know people are going to get on the wrong train simply because it says "West"

Edit: and yeah, Laroque was useless.

Originally Planned Opening: October '07
Current Construction Delay: 2 Months
Currently Estimated Opening: December '07
Scheduled Opening: TBD

If I'm not mistaken they were actually ahead of schedule but when they started work on the station itself they finally felt the effects of the labour crunch. I think it's safe to believe that the station will open in December but with the labour crunch you can never be absolutely certain.

Maybe it will teach those people to look at the ample supply of maps on the platforms. Cartographic skills shall be forced upon the stupid!

Yeah, the second time.

It isn't stupid to assume a train bound for "Westwinds" is going west. It is stupid to name a stop at the eastern end of the line "Westwinds" though.

I think they'd probably name it McKnight though, just to avoid confusion. But then again, who knows how stupid Calgary Transit planners actually are.

boo to December! I was hoping for October. But driving past it everyday on the bus I knew it wasn't going to be finished in time.

I think they're also naming "Crowfoot" station Centennial.... cuz that's intuitive...

Yes, the Crowfoot station that is opening nearly three years after Alberta's centennial is being named in its honor.
