Free Economist.com Subscription if you play this game
Some people might like the Economist and I thought they might find this interesting.
If you play this game Energyville you can get a six month subscription to the online magazine
Energyville is an online, interactive game that puts you in charge of meeting the energy demands of your city. It's a chance to put your theories into practice. Choose from a portfolio of available energy sources to power your city today, and through 2030. Every decision you make will affect the environment, the economy, and even your city’s security. So, give each move some real thought.

So this is for the website, not the actual magazine?

I've wanted to get a subscription for this magazine but it is really expensive. Although there is a huge amount of content in each issue, so it would be worth it if I thought I could fully read through each one.

I played it through with a coal/oil powered city...guess my pollution score kind of sucked, but it was cheap!

Actually, you can find decent deals of it sometimes
I think last year my subscription was like 100-120$ per year, which is around 2$ an issue
My biggest problem is getting through one every week.

Yeah. I enjoy reading, but with the amount of content I wouldn't be able to read anything else if I wanted to keep up. They almost need an "every other issue" option.

I played the game right to the end and then tried to get my freebie and no go, so I had to register and start again, typed in my e-mail and password and it said "Sorry, you are not the original recipient bla bla bla bla bla... so please piss off and take this opportunity to buy our magazine".

The offer is OK.
Im guessing the problem is that you guys are using the link provided by the OP and its unique to him.
If you go to the Economist website you can see this offer on the left hand side. Look for the Chevron logo.
Dont delete this thread. Its a good offer.
