And a new account... which is a big deal for a guy with 60000 achievement points.

Guess he should have waited for the game to be released. Live and learn.

I think he was banned for exploiting a bug that let him play the demo.. I wish more companies would take a hardline against people exploiting flaws. Too many games have been ruined by so called "hackers" who can't compete with skilled legit players.

The 9999 AD is obviously a bug. More likely his account was banned indefinetly.

Haha.
I've never been a Halo player, but my brothers talk about cheaters and hackers and how much they ruin previous editions. Hopefully it's not as easy for the guy just to get a new IP or new online account and that he has to spring for a new X-box.

I'm so glad to see this. This will get all the cheaters of Halo to be more cautious for a little bit. I stopped playing Halo 2 because I couldn't take the Standbys and hacks anymore. It ruins the game, and I don't see the fun in it. I'd rather play a big game with a bunch of friends then play with people I don't know.

I read the threads a few days ago and Scar said they banned his console as well (each console has a unique ID), but he had 3 more so he didn't care.
Kinda dumb though, playing a multiplayer version of a game that isn't released.
"Hey, the team is in a meeting and there's a bunch of people on the servers!"

They will never get rid of cheaters, this is one reason I stopped playing Halo 2 online. The one cheat that got to me the most was the gauranteed head shot, that drove me nuts.
The jury is still out on Halo 3 for me, I don't want to buy it just to find out more people have figured out cheats.
If you don't have the "skill" to play and beat people then why play? Go buy a NES and a Game Genie if you need to cheat to win!

Why does he have 4 consoles? Clearly it isn't so his friends can come over and multi-play, 'cause if you are geeky enough to have 4 consoles, your friends ARE the consoles...

He'll get his account back in time just to see it wiped out by the Y10K bug...

I think you answered your own question; they do it because they know it drives people nuts.
