so, uh, hi there.

how's everybody doing?

i'm posting in the OT forum because i don't think the news that my husband and i are actually traveling to Calgary warrants a post in the main forum. :)

yes, you read that right, after what, 6 years? we are finally coming to calgary. could it be during summer when the weather's perfect and there's tons to do? during january, when the skiing's fine? nope, we're coming in october when the summer fun is packed up, the ski resorts aren't open yet and the weather is so-so. awesome!

really though, we will be in calgary 10/06 - 10/14. we're staying at the westin in calgary, and we will actually be in banff from 10/07 - 10-11 and then spend that last wknd in calgary as well. obviously i want tickets to the 10/06 game (see my thread in the ticket forum).

more importantly, we'd love to hang out with any of you CPers who even remember who i am. :) or if not, maybe just some advice on things to do that week. what are good spots to visit, sights to see, etc.

any tips or proposed meet-ups will be rewarded with a beer or other beverage. :)

thanks in advance all. nice to see the old joint is still jumping. :)

---mia.

That's awesome, I can't wait to make it back to Cow-town (which might actually happen in October or November of this year.

Alright.. an official CP meeting should be held, and if possible Craig Conroy should be invited.

Who want's to set something up?

But the only people invited are the ones who know what she called Lanny.

I too am making an excursion to Calgary, although this will be my first trip ever there. I am coming to see the 3 game homestand Nov. 8-14. I already got my tix (thanks habernac). I am just looking for things to do in the days in between games. So if any of the locals can point me in the right direction of what to do on those off nights let me know. Points of interest, bars, restaurants (I am vegan though).... THanks in advance...

agreed! ;)

for reals though, meeting up would be great, or just any tips on good places to go....we really don't have anything specific planned at all.

we plan to walk around a bit at banff (been told to beware of bears!) but nowere specific so if you know of good spots there, please do tell.

we have a guidebook thing (Moon handbooks' Alberta) and there's some stuff we've looked at that sounds cool, but i don't know what we'll actually go for. *shrug* the zoo, the science centre and olympic park are three things i/we really want to do. we are such dorks. :)

The best two veggie restaurants are Buddha's Veggie Restaurant and The Coup.

James.
