Diana: Was she murdered?
http://winnipegsun.com/News/World/20...57046-sun.html
Quote:
LONDON -- It has to be the gaudiest memorial I have ever seen.
Entitled "Innocent Victims", the ugly, life-sized bronze statue stands between the ground and first floors of the famous Harrods department store, with a boyish, scantily-dressed Diana and her summer lover, Dodi Al Fayed, gazing dreamily into each other's eyes as they release an albatross into the sky.
Its tackiness, though, is hardly surprising considering it was commissioned by Dodi's millionaire father Mohamed, owner of Harrods as well the Ritz in Paris. This is his second memorial to the pair; the first can be found in his store's Egyptian corridor -- a ghastly gold-leaf shrine that has their portraits entwined above a pyramidal case that contains a dusty goblet taken from their hotel room on that final night and the diamond engagement ring that Dodi supposedly planned to give Diana back at his Paris apartment.
On a busy August morning, tourists and Londoners alike are crowded on to escalators that whisk them past the shmaltzy bronze statue to floors of ridiculously expensive luxury goods. No one seems to notice that the store's diminutive owner is standing by a black condolence book that still draws entries 10 years after the famous Paris car crash killed his son and the Princess.
A crash he is convinced was murder.
"What those s did to me and my son and the Queen of Hearts, they can't just get away with it," Al Fayed tells me with bristling rage.

So the theory, as I understand it, is that the secret service paid off the driver to get drunk, somehow make sure that Dodi and Diana were not wearing seatbelts, and then give up his own life by crashing the car? A traffic accident has got to be just about the most unlikely form of assassination. Just too many variables, too many things that can go wrong. Not to mention the fact that the driver likely could have made more money and not die by reporting the plot to his boss.

who cares? Really.
Not to sound ignorant but it was a long time ago and although the women was damn near a saint, she was a character of a monarchy that should have no relevance to us as Canadians. The monarchy is such a waste of money IMO

If you go out on a limb...the article does mention something about the Royal Family wanting her dead. But seriously....I agree with everyone here. A conspiracy that makes no sense at best.

I agree with guzzy. Why do people care? Why do people care about Brangelina (typing that made me barf a little in my mouth) and such things? Is your life that boring that you need to know when they fight?

I always feel bad for Princes William and Harry--how can you really get closure with a parent's death if it is constantly all over every tabloid, every magazine, on news shows, etc, etc.?
Just let it go, no one is ever going to know exactly what happened, how it happened...it's a tragedy, yes, but for the sake of those she left behind, just drop it already.

If she was, would people stop talking about her death? If so, I hope she was.
