Default Solar Radiant Floor Heating Systems

I'm planning to build a woodworking shop with an attached greenhouse in my backyard. I'd like to heat the building with a solar powered radiant floor heating system. Does anyone know if there's a company in Calgary that sells these systems? So far, the closest I've found is in BC.

Interesting idea! I am truly looking forward to the day where solar panels or wind power or any combination of the two is good enough for a house to completley remove itself from the grid.

Sorry, got off topic there. I had no idea such a system existed so no help for you locating one in Calgary.

Are you planing on doing it yourself?

There are a few places that sell dual coil water heaters that the panels hook up too. Most of these places are the distributors though. I know they are expensive but Viessmann has a system.

There are a few plumbers around Calgary that deal with them. I have found that most of them come from a European background and seem to be very knowledgable with the stuff. Don't know if that helps at all though.

I'll see if I can find a number for one of the plumbers if your instrested.

I live about an hour outside of Calgary, so I don't know if a Calgary-based plumber would come out or not. I would still be grateful for any contact information you can find though. At the very least a plumber like that would be an excellent resource person in case I have to do it myself. I haven't decided yet whether that's something I want to do or not, but I'm interested in doing it myself. It might be good experience to have in the coming years ... plus the more I read about it, the more interested I get in the whole process.
