The Willow Park Liquor store usually has a good selection, and if they don't I've had them order in special wines before.

The old tasters pack included Pale Ale (which was amazing) and the new ones have replaced the pale with white (which is also amazing)...
I wish rickards would start selling the Pale and/or the White separately too...

I bought a 12 pack of White last night in Canmore actually. Not a beer fan, but I had to try it after reading about it on here.

They had the pale out for a long time in 6 pack bottles, but no one ever bought it. They probably discontinued the Pale and brought out the white

Yeah certain liquor stores are selling the White seperately now, Co-Op and Solo do, I wish you could still get the pale though. As someone who considers Keith's part of a healthy and balanced Diet I like my pale ales and Rickard's was a good one.
I like the White, but its one of those beers that I can have a couple but then want something else. I've never been a huge fan of the unfiltered beers (Hoegaarden I detest particularly) but I enjoy the White, just not too much of it.

I drank white for the first time on the flames central grand opening and haven't looked back. My only problem with the beer is that when its really cold i seem to drink it way to fast...
PS crowfoot liquor has the 12 packs too.

Alright, I couldn't wait any longer and cracked one open. Very different, but tasty. I was unsure how the citrus and wheat beer combination would appeal to me, but I like it. One thing I did find out though is that a glass is needed. Drinking from the bottle results in drinking the sediment at the bottom. yech

Rickards is a Molson product brewed in the Molson breweries beside the rest of the Molson lineup. Molson did a great marketing job convicning people Rickards was a microbrew. (Doesnt change the taste of the beer but its an interesting fact.)

Was Rickards originally a Microbrewery? I know there was some controversy because 10 years ago the case only said Capilano Brewing Company but it was Molsons.
I know Molsons bought Creemore Springs a couple years ago (I used to love their products back in Ont), so I'm wondering if Rickards is from a similar heritage.

Rickards White is my beer at the moment, I can't drink anything but it, I truly am in love. They don't sell it in cases yet where I am, so I just buy two six packs. I don't like it at the bar on tap when they put an Orange in it, always make sure you ask for it on the rim so its optional.

Yeah, that Hophead brew of theirs is putrid beyond belief. I thought some of their other product was okay, though.

Definately stay away from Tree if you don't love hops. Actually you should stay away from India Pale Ales altogether (and Keiths doesn't count cause it's not a real IPA).
Wouldn't call Tree vile though. Just not for everyone. If you want vile, try WildRose brewery beer from the tap.
I had a pint of the Velvet Fog last week, and it was NAS-TY. Smelled like a tin of canned mushrooms, tasted like slightly carbonated vomit.

Every other Rickards is trash the red is truly awful (most anything brewed by Molson is) but the white is pretty good, if you like a White wheat ale I would recommend Mil Streets “Wit” or “Hoegaarden” same type of beer as the Rickard's white just better

I cant remember the exact story but you are correct that the initial packaging claimed the beer was produced by a brewery called "Capilano". I believe there was no mention of Molson anywhere on the packaging or advertising and when you called the 1-800 number on the packaging, you reached the Capilano brewery. Only problem was that there wasnt a physical Capilano brewery. I think some true micro breweries raised a bit of a fuss and took the issue to the media. I remember media contacting Rickards for a tour of the brewery but how can you get a tour of something that doesnt exist. .Molson finally came clean and used an excuse something along the lines that they purchased the trade mark Capilano Brewery which was an actual brewery years ago.

###. They brought it into the Soccer Center's bar the 'Pitch & Pint' and its always on special, that stuff tastes like industrial paint thinner. It could probably be used to un-clog pipes, plumbers probably carry it around with them at all times.
A beer called Cutthroat? Really? Who goes to a bar and says, "you know what? I want a beer that will taste bad, leave a burning sensation in my throat, and generally make me want to kill myself, and is advertised proudly for all of these exceptional qualities. Yup, thats the beer that I have a hankering for...."
The waitress was really trying to push it on us one day because the tree beer marketing VP was at the next table. After my entire soccer team refused to even go near a free jug of "Cutthroat" or that "Beaver Fever" crap she informs us of who he is and he comes over all pissed off that we wont drink his beer.
This I found really stupid. How does the job of someone that I dont know, have never met before and dont care anything about affect my choice of beer. Because you are sitting there I have to drink your tree beer? It was free and I didnt want it, go away.
Congratulations, you work for company that makes the worst beer available at this bar. I dont care, I'll pay more not to drink that swill. I'd rather drink a mix of laquer thinner and drano.
/rant.
