Default Province commits funds to National Team training facility

Toronto Star

To be built at Canada Olympic Park.

Presumably, this replaces the Father David Bauer complex near the university.

That's an estimated cost of $280 million for two sheets of ice, maybe a couple of thousand seats, and some office space.

Makes you wonder what the capital cost of a Saddledome replacement would be.

Jeebus. What else are the putting in there? There is no way two sheets of ice will take up that entire cost.

I'd be surprised if they put a couple thousand seats in too. Maybe 1200-1500 at most, like FDB. You'd only need that many seats if there was a tennant there that will regularaly play.
