Cool Cars Cruising 4 Cancer in Calgary. Aug 26 fundraiser.
http://www.coolcarscruising4cancer.ca/index.html
When: Sunday, August 26.
Where: McMahon Stadium parking lot 9am-9pm (cruise to Cochrane from 11am-1ish then return to McMahon)
I'm sure there are a few members on CP who are aware of this and probably even a few involved in it. Over 2,000 cars registered for this event and still accepting more with a goal of raising $1million for the Canadian Cancer Society.
All the details can be found on the website and anyone who isn't registering their car is welcome to come out and enjoy the sights. $5 admission fee, all of which goes to the CCS and a BBQ put on by AB pork producers/M&M meats/Spolumbos who will donate all their profits from the day to the cause as well.
They are looking for volunteers as well although I won't push that on anyone, you can contact them about it on your own free will if you would like to help out. Anyway, just wanted to post this up here in the hopes of generating a bit more interest. It's going to be big (Guiness book of World Records on site), might as well make it bigger. Going to be a fantastic day, hopefully Mother Nature co-operates. Everyone knows someone who has had this disease so handing a cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society at the end of the day for cool million sure would be a nice way to help them fight it. Thanks for taking the time to read!
