Good vacation resort for vacation with a 3 1/2 year old?
Hey, just wondering if anyone's got any input on places they've been with young children.
We stayed at the Beaches in Turks and Caicos before we had our son, and thought that was a pretty good option (though not much to do on the island there).
Any other places that could be recommended?

We went down to the Sol Luna y Mares near Holguin in Cuba and saw a few kids that looked like they were having a good time, the resort is not expensive, the beach is amazing and the food was pretty good (not common in Cuba)...warning though there may be a few British ladies going topless

Heh, part of it would be a resort that has specific programs for the kids.. so that there is some times when he can be in the program and we can go do our own thing for a few hours.
I guess the other option would be to bring along a sitter.
For Disney, I wouldn't do it until 6 or 7, earlier and they won't remember or appreciate it.

Yeah, hold off on Disney until at least 7. I was 6.5 and wished it was later.
When I was in Puerto Plata in the Dominican, there was a group of resorts in the "Playa Dorada Complex." All 3 stars so not too fancy, but each resort is gated, then the complex is also gated. I'm pretty sure I saw things on the activity board for kids; and I saw babysitting as an option.

Our son has been to Mexico twice, Cuba, and Domincan. He loved them all and he was there at all ages. I think beachs and pools are the most fun for kids. Plus it is easy when you dont have to cook for them and you can eat whenever you want.
He was 6 months when we went to mexico, 2 in DR, 3 in Cuba and 4 in Mexico again.

Where did you go in Mexico when your boy was four?? What resort did you stay at??

I have a coworker who took his 2.5 year old and 4 year old to Disney World and had a FANTASTIC time. Even if the 2.5 year old doesn't remember it...who cares! He had a good time at the time, and so did the parents! You can always go again.
Vacations aren't just for the kids either. Disney is so kid friendly too, that it is hard to go wrong. Apparently you hand them your checked luggage at your departure point and the next time you see it is in your hotel room.

Well they must have had a kids program there then...... 
I wonder if it was clothing optional or if you had to keep your Texticles covered??

anybody have suggestions for older kids 13, 19?
I know the older one will have fun wherever, but it's harder to entertain the 13 year old.
Haven't been to a resort with them before, are all the sports activities included as well?

I've took my kids to Disneyland and Disneyworld and had a great time on both occasions. The kids were young too, 1yr and 6 yrs to D.L. and almost 2, 3 and 8 yrs old. Personally I don't think that they were too young at all. So what if they don't remember the trip. They had a great time and so did we. Also, we have photo albums that the kids love to look at which helps them remember. We've also taken the kids to England which they really enjoyed too.

That is an awesome resort, stayed there 2 years ago and they had all sorts of activities for kids and adults going on. There were a couple young ones with us and they had a great time
